17-Year-Old Returns Woman’s Lost Purse and Gets $3K Reward

Dipublikasikan tanggal 28 Jun 2022
A California teen did a good deed by driving to a woman’s house to return a lost purse. Melina Marquez says a teenager found the purse in a shopping cart at a grocery store. The driver’s license inside belonged to her friend, Eliana Martin, who used to live with her, but hadn’t updated her address. They posted the doorbell video to social media hoping to find the teen. Adrian Rodriguez, 17, reached out to identify himself as the good Samaritan. Inside Edition Digital’s Mara Montalbano has more.

  • He became the change he wanted to see in the world. Humanity desperately needs more people like him. It’s really nice to see wholesome and heartwarming acts of good deeds like this more often.

    • at this point you're not just 'some guy without a mustache' you're 'THE GUY without the mustache'

    • I always find keys, purses, i even found debit cards. I have always returned it because like he said “ its the right thing to do”. Im also Christian and i think God sometimes test our character with that. I dont wanna fail 😁 its always a nice feeling to do the right thing

    • @Cats Pjs He does nothing; just comments

    • This is how the world should be. I hope he continues to do more positive in the world in a full conscience mind. Do good things and you’ll get good things coming for you.

  • It's sad that we have reached a point in time when this is considered a woah, instead of normal. Good job young man, but we desperately need more people like you, and like your parents.

    • @Laera *-* Lol exactly. The worst part is that this has 4k thumbs up. Humanity will always be infected by ignorance and immorality.

    • VERY true

    • Thought the same exact thing

    • yep its sad maybe in US but here people return the lost things and its normal here

    • @Claire i still want others to be that way as well

  • We need more people like this in this world.

    • @scooterhater 1 you js saw the comment that said that😭😭😭

    • @PROKASEKO Correct. Although, some people don't want to be like that.

    • We need to be like him not need

    • @KELLY CAPOWSKI boo hoo

  • Everybody did the right thing. The parents of this young man, the young man himself, both women and their friends. A ultimate win win situation.

    • @Tim Dooley Don’t those only benefits a few people?

    • @Tim Dooley pyramid scheme of kindness

    • So like a pyramid scheme ?

  • Most people say “We need more people like him..” No. “We need to be like him” - Someone Very Wise

  • “Always do the right thing, even when no one is watching.” We all could learn a thing or two from this young man.

    • @iJ Sabelle That's not unsettling at all.

    • kudos to his moms for raising such a fine gentleman.

    • Yes

    • Yep, even if there's a million dollar in that purse (nope)

  • Some people would steal the pennies off a dead man's eyes, but this young man is made of stronger, better stuff. A shining example of decency.

    • When I was that age I would have just delivered it to the police. After I had robbed it for cash. To be clear, that was my level of moral ability. The price of getting your cards and phone back was your cash. Not saying that is right, but even to this day I would want my cards and phone back and would care little that a few bucks was gone.

    • One's religion doesn't matter. As long as they confess with their mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in their heart God raised Him from the dead, they will be saved. And if they follow the teachings of Jesus Christ as His disciples, they will do good unto other and treat others as they wish to be treated. Anyone who doesn't do this, isn't really following Jesus Christ and their religious association means nothing.

    • @Yitzhak Goldberg he’s hispanic, so if he IS religious he’s most likely catholic. doesn’t matter tho.

    • @getasimbe damn, you’re actually right. I figured it would be anti correlation or something along those lines.

    • @Poop Pooper Um, yes it is?

  • He did the right thing anybody should do. We need more people like this.

    • @Joseph Clifton-LeBlanc I think returning a worthless purse is not such a big deal to make a news story about it. I know why there is so much noice about it, but saying it out loud would activate the youtube's censorship algorithm.

    • @GalaxyMM What do you think?

    • What else can he do with a purse? Wear it?

    • we get more people like that young man by doing the same thing he did.

  • This young man is setting an example of how we all should be. I am proud of him and his parents for raising a respectable young man for this world!

    • Well he only in london. So in his area in london is where he do his good deeds

    • Speak for yaself

  • I love stories like this. This young man is an outstanding member of his community. He will be a great parent one day. It's so refreshing to see someone from the younger generation have a strong moral compass.

  • The world could be saved if there were more people like this. all we need to do is look after each other and that would solve 99% of the world problems

    • The problem is that most people in high positions and with a lot of influence and power aren‘t like that rather than there not being enough people like that.

    • Politicians and white lefts and lgbt and feminists and democrats won’t leave you alone. Your kind acts will offended them.

    • @Tengo Hambre did u just say Asians and Hispanics don't judge? I forreak need whatever it is that you're smoking.

  • Wow we need more kids like him, if he was my kid I would be so proud of him what a precious soul❤️

  • It’s sad that this is considered so rare and amazing that it makes the news. He is acting how everyone should be, but instead he is an extreme rarity.

    • It's like living in a gated community and complaining about high crime rate LEL

    • @robert Somewhere that doesn't ever using Capitals?

    • My thought.

    • @robert Sounds like you live in a nice neighbourhood

    • Its not a rarity. This is Inside Edition they will make an item on litterly anything

  • I'm a 60-year-old eight year old vet with cancer and heart problems and diabetes and that is refreshing to see a young person that thinks like that that really gives me belief in humanity

    • Huh.

    • i hope you recover

    • @A F no it’s just rather unnecessary to the video that’s all, it serves no purpose to be said here. I feel bad for him but to talk about it here just doesn’t correlate with anything

    • @olavgamer25 nothing it’s just interesting he decides to bring it up, in this comment section in particular

    • @FaReal WitIt No, no you haven't

  • Much respect for this young man. He's been raised right. I hope his generation will learn from this. May God bless him 🙏🏼

  • That was very kind, honest and thoughtful of a young man to return the lost purse.

    • Poor purse must’ve been scared

    • fr

    • Don't read my name 😶😶😶

    • @Carlos Sanchez Where did you find out this information?

    • This kid actually works at a Ralph’s in Chula Vista, San Diego. He knows the lady who’s bag he “returned.” He “found the bag” on a shopping cart, left his shift early and stopped showing up to work after the gofundme was created. It was all a scam and y’all fell for it.

  • That is what’s called “integrity.” Great job for the young man.

  • Good on the young man, but also good on his mother for instilling a sense of self-awareness in him.

  • He did the right thing I know if I lost my wallet or something like that I would hope someone would return it it’s just proof that not everyone in this world is bad. We need more people like him good job

  • Be the change you wanted to see. Good job young fella! We need more people like this in every community.

  • He was raised very well! His mother should be extremely proud of him!

    • Yesterday I was referred as not raised well, but painted, in a bad way cuz of a opinion I had, from a adult. I’m black..

    • Well his is but my isn't

    • @Carlos Sanchez u said that in anorher comment i want proof

    • Maybe, but he was also raised as a healthy teen boy with hormones. lol

  • Awesome job young man. You’ll go far in life.

    • I agree but its sad to know that it could end very different as well, especially in the USA.

  • What an honorable kid. I have a 17 year old who would do the same. As a mom, you know you have succeeded when your child is that good at his core. You know they can make it through anything with honor.

    • @Вадим Вадимович you sound disgruntled.

    • Just because your child has a good heart doesn’t mean you succeeded lol. I know plenty of people raised by ass£s who have a heart of gold.

  • Man, nothing better than seeing a good deed rewarded. I've never experienced it💀 but it's always good to see it happen to others.

  • It’s good to see that we still have Good Samaritans in this tragic world still, Proud to see that he has done the right thing🫶🏽.

  • This was a “win-win” for all involved!!! Way to go on passing on the kindness!!!💕

    • For the agents Ep Out midnight “TOP SECRET” ON EVERY PLATFORM 🎗🤫✅ Lock in

    • @Henry Reed Rathbone I will try to explain later.....🤓

    • @Henry Reed Rathbone i bet it's her hubby's credit card.

    • @Z Rules What do you mean?

    • @•Eluboy•🇷🇺 right sad we have to say that!

  • amazing kid, good deeds never go unrewarded

  • People have trouble doing the right thing when everybody is watching😩 so good for him 👏🏽

  • His moms advice was spot on! Doing what’s right when no one is watching shows true character.

  • We don't need more people like you We need to be more like you

  • Now this is a kid that was raised right!!! I loved to see parents who raise their children with morals and values!!! Good job kid!! 👍👍👍

    • it’s not always the parents though, I taught myself to make good decisions

    • Alot of parents do raise there kid right most just get influenced by there peers and social media

    • @John doe either he has a heart of gold or its this lmao

    • @4DoorsMoreWhoreZ Liberal alert

    • @John doe The purse belonged to the aunt who was like 30 or more years older than him

  • A momma who truly loves her child will teach them to be kind and choose the path to good without expecting anything. If only there were more families like this 🙏

  • I love this. Hoping that I’m raising my sons to always do the right thing…”even when no one is watching” ❤️

  • This is how the world is suppose to work. Good job by all involved.

  • Just shows you how important it is to instill good behavior in your child from young

  • This is so sweet. He didn’t expect anything, but how nice people want to reward his kindness.

    • @Carlos Sanchez 😂 that’s crazy but hey maybe he can turn that 3k around or something

    • @RYAN imma be honest, i’d definitely do something devious after seeing who she was and returning her belongings, who knows he probably already did 😂

    • If you bring something back to some stranger, you expect at least something. At least its a rule here where i live. You can expect a finders reward

    • After this he go to get high to stop his voice in his had who call him stupid^^

    • Hi beautiful how you doing..😍💙😁🥰😊🤗

  • This is what should happen! ❤️ My applause to that teen!

  • I work with juveniles everyday and I wish more kids would be like this one

  • Awe! God bless this boy! And great job Mom & Dad! I wish there were more people like that around. I want them to be my neighbors!

  • That young man has a good heart ! Great job.

  • “Always do the right thing, even when no one is looking”, Adrian, your mom did a great job raising you. She must be so proud

    • Lets be honest he saw her id and was gonna try to smash

    • Meanwhile in Chicagoland we get a father signing off on a foid card and says he's innocent to that highland park shooting.

    • @Stormstaunch Not really.... it's just a first name, somewhat common.

    • I been doing that before sb even told me that😭 and to my luck good things always come my way

    • Exactly 👏👏

  • I love stories like this! Thanks for sharing it. Feels good to get some good heart warming stories for a change!

  • I feel proud of this young man!

  • Thank you for posting about something good. Super proud of this young man and his mom!!

  • Thank you, young man for reinstating some hope for us.

  • The face he makes when he looks into the camera after ringing the bell just looks so kindhearted...I hope this kid has a wonderful life 😭

    • @Carlos Sanchez hmm is this true?

    • @Jesus Lover how do u know he hasnt💀

    • @ABictor yeah seriously

    • @Carlos Sanchez dam Carlos how the fack do you know this chet?

  • For a normal person doing the right thing actually brings a certain kind of satisfaction, unlike any other. You do it for yourself as much as the other person.

  • This is beautiful. There's hope in this world after all

  • this proves there’s still good people in the world :) i wanna be someone like this

  • Good kid, hope his mom is proud & I wish him all the success

  • “Always do the right thing even when nobody’s looking.” Words to live by.

    • @بروس باتمان 😭😭

    • You need to tell that to the US government and US corporations.

    • The definition of integrity 👏

    • @بروس باتمان I agree

    • @randal gibbons My comment is much better than his.

  • How beautiful the world would be if everyone thought like this. Best wishes for his future ❤️

  • 15 years ago, I lost my wallet in a club, but someone returned it to the counter, although the cash inside was gone (~$50), I'm still thankful to the person till this day. It had my IDs, credit cards and SSN card. Not saying it's okay to take the cash inside, but it's what it is.

    • LMAO

  • "There's hope for our younger generation.." There's always been hope. The older generation just believe they know better.

  • “Theres hope for out younger generation” thats sad and good at the same time

  • He must have fantastic parents!! My big hug to his mom and dad for raising him so well.

    • @bnck it also depends on good friends that treat you well

    • @bnck true!

    • You can be a good person without being raised well

  • His mom did a good job, kids going to go places in life.

  • Kudos to his mom for raising a good kid and kudos to the ladies for rewarding him!

    • @Wayzor wtf

    • I wonder how else they "rewarded" him. lol

  • Bless his heart, hope he leads a happy and healthy life

  • I’m so proud of him 💙

  • Kid was raised right. There's still hope for the youth.

    • @KZ eliana*, and yes she’s bad fr 😂

    • @Carlos Sanchez 3rd time i see this comment i want proof

    • @Carlos Sanchez Let's see the proof.

    • Hope for the youth says every Oldhead born in the 60’s

    • I will have hope for the Youth Once our youth lays off the Vapes and Drugs

  • You know, sometimes we can't judge people by looks. Good for him for doing the right thing.

    • @Noa • everyone has a chain these days even suburban boys

    • @Noa • i see no tatts

    • @Julian Vldz the little beard, big gold chains and the cap and tattoos with literally 17 just doesn't look nice. But he showed that his charakter is big

    • @Drunk Geek .yeah, but what looks? I see a teenage kid, what do you see?

    • @Ceasar Cruz because most of the time, the media who cheered him for doing a good thing, would also show a guy like him as a bad person with his looks

  • Integrity is the best thing. My parents tell me that to this day.

  • So proud of you young man! You will go far in life!! Your Mother trained you right. Hope all you dreams come true!!! 😘🦩

  • People like him definitely deserve some help for the good deed.

  • The moment as a parent……you know you did the “right things” raising your kid! No need to analyze….the moment he rang to doorbell say’s it all. Just Beautiful!

    • @Kenique Nembhard the mother can teach all she wants it’s up to him to actually follow what she said

    • Absolutely outstanding that's us to his mom and dad so reason such a fine young man wow what a gift to see that in today's world it is totally amazing beautiful and certainly astounding God bless amen

    • @Z*** That is a stupid argument since the young man say his mother told him from he was small to do the right thing even when noone was watching.

    • @Z*** agreed. Even if it is down to the parents, that’s what they should be doing. Raising a child they decided to bring into the world correctly. We don’t pat a fish on the back for swimming.

  • Wow so proud of this young guy, good job well done. Keep it up.

  • we need stuff like this on the news more. Not just negativity

  • When my son was 17 he found a very fat wallet with over $15,000 cash in it in a grocery store parking lot where he worked. He took it in to management and they were able to get it back to the owner who said he had stopped at the store on his way to buy a car with cash. The guy was shocked that my son returned it and tried to give him a cash reward but my son refused to accept it. He couldn't understand why he should be rewarded for doing what "anyone" would do. Very proud day for us as parents. To be clear, I would have been just as proud even if he did accept the cash reward. I am certain that Adrian didn't do the good deed expecting a reward but I am happy for him that the people were able to raise one for him.

  • Last year when I was in Turkey I left my wallet at cashier's. About ten minutes later a local caught up with me saying something like sir you left your wallet. I was both embarrassed and grateful to that gentleman. I thanked him profusely, he just smiled and went away.

  • "We need more people like him" *We need to be like him.*

    • @Poop Pooper yup lol

    • @Fabio Mino Did you really watch a video like this expecting anything else in the comments?

    • @Former Atheist Then quit it, will ya? You're making everyone else look less like him! 😒

    • @Fabio Mino it's just bots spamming the samething

    • @Andre Onin Arbuis ?

  • Great, Great young man! God bless him and his family.

  • I found a purse at a bus station filled with money when I was younger and really needed money. I handed it in. Most people I told the story to said I should have kept it. I found it really depressing everyone was so damn cynical about the whole thing. It is really touching this guy returned the purse and the ladies saw the importance of rewarding that.

  • You know our society is screwed up when something we used to do all the time is now so rare that it's heralded as heroic lol. Good job kid.

  • That young man will be blessed with richest for doing that, and his mom raised him right.

  • It's not about "we need more people like him" it's about you being that person. Have a great day.❤️

    • @HOTES ty

    • True that! I’m hoping I can be a kinder person to others, especially at my school, and I hope you guys will try to be kind as well :)

    • @somethingwhatever How??? Dude literally did a good deed and I think you're bring cynical and don't wish to believe people can do good and get rewarded for it. Smh

    • @SheridanTank 😂😂😂😂

  • Good kid. Great to see hope isn't lost with kids these days being so narcisistic. Hope he has a great life.

  • Insane how this is impressive. Good job but we should always be attempting to return lost or stolen items

  • What a good soldier. Respect🫡

  • What a cool guy. Hope we can see more of this.

  • Goes to show that even if you look a certain way doesn’t mean you’re a bad person

  • Absolutely amazing young man!

  • That young man changed my outlook in modern society, Bendiciones Adrian!!!

  • Bravo!!!!!! What an extraordinary kid! ❤️

  • We need more stories like this. Outstanding job young man. Your integrity is far beyond your age. Your parents raised you right.

    • @Nazomius ‘ nah most people would've just left it there, like "it's not my problem" and that's fine

    • What about his Dad?

    • For sure. I dropped my wallet running to my car in a mall parking lot. I didn’t even realize I had lost it hours later and was washing my car in my driveway. A car pulled up and a guy in his 20s gets out, walks up my driveway. I said great i’m about to get robbed. The exact opposite. He returned my wallet with every single credit card there. It was one of those wallets that just held cards, but he could have still taken them. I did give him some cash

    • His mom must be so proud of him

    • @Poseidon Stealing might be the perceived norm, but that doesn’t always happen.

  • Love it. Why can't the main stream media report more things like this? Sorry I forgot. Their job is to keep you in fear all the time.

  • To do the right thing even when no one is watching is called "integrity".

  • Its so sad what the world has become, but this person shows true hope.

  • We need more ppl like him!

  • We need more of this in our country. Rewards for people who do the right thing. Awesome job ladies!!! And kudos to that young man.

    • @Victoria why else would you help? Unless it's a friend or something. The panchito should've took the purse.

    • @George Washington so ur saying u only help cuz u want a reward?. Thats a very shallow way of thinking

    • @Talents Kunzekwenyika learn english

    • It's me saying whaat returning a lost purse kkkkkkkkkkkk the dude must still be in the stone age ......

    • @Victoria why would you do the right thing then lol. Why waste your time to help someone?

  • "My mom always told me to do the right thing even when unseen". Best video I have seen in two years.

  • In this world where immorality is praised as social justice this is a heart warming story that makes me feel there is hope

  • This young fella is 1 in a million. Says a lot we need to praise him in a 2 minute news coverage. Yesterday is have seen a clip of a similair aged, similair named, similair dressed boi who magdumped an officer out of nowhere in the middle of the mall.

  • So refreshing to hear and see something good

  • Seriously as a Mom of boys, THIS IS THE STANDARD OF HUMANITY to teach young men to have. Hats off to you young man, you have my respect, Sir.

    • @Evan Sisco no no its mars isfar and it would still rhyme if it said mars is far

    • @One Woman Army LOL I know what you said and I know what you meant (by seeing your previous comments) I was only trolling you 😂 and know I don't have kids I'm only 20

    • @Hashim Hussain Again, if I had a DAUGHTER that would be the case. I only have sons...can't be out here teaching everyone's children, guys. Not sure why that's going over a lot of people's head. Must not have kids, I guess😂😂😂

    • @Lynn Michelle THANK YOU!!!

  • I love how this is apparently news. Good guy, great deed, but if we reach the point where the media feels like covering a returned purse is important, things aren't going so hot.

  • Thats a good young man. Proves you cant always judge a book by its cover. Tattoos, jewelry, clothes, might make you think one thing when in fact that is the kind of young man I would love to know. Wish he lived near me. Would love to know a young person like that. With all the bad stories, this is a great one to share.

  • Amazing! Good for him kudos to him for doing the right thing! When you do the right thing God reward you when you do the bad thing he takes your rewards and bad things happen down the line! Well the store is so great it almost wants me to send him $50! L O L

  • This teaches everyone that what gone around comes around always do the right thing and good things will happen

  • This young man is a true testimony to all things good and everyone should be like that.

    • This kid actually works at a Ralph’s in Chula Vista, San Diego. He knows the lady who’s bag he “returned.” He “found the bag” on a shopping cart, left his shift early and stopped showing up to work after the gofundme was created. It was all a scam and y’all fell for it.

    • Yes

    • he stole nd brought it back

    • @Keith Cooper I like the hidden meaning of this tbh

    • @Jose Ramos And you're a triangle ...
