@PickUpMyKnives Jrue Holiday is top 5 defensive guard and is still good on offense with one of the slowest pace teams in NBA. He deserves to be there I think PG was worse then Fox this year.

I'll say it again and you have yet to prove to me JJJ is an all-star caliber player. The numbers you say and being a "better defender" is not something that stands out from other PF's in the league. A guy that gets in foul trouble early and you can get out of the game by getting under his skin is not someone that should get the slot. If another Grizzly were to it would be Bane...not JJJ. lol

As for the cutoff for how many games a player should have played, I have no idea, but I do know that 35 is way more than 21... and as for Kat's stats "putting JJJ's to shame" and being "a far better player overall"... again, based on what??? KAT is putting up 21 & 8 in 33 mpg with no defense, JJJ is putting up 17 & 7 in 27 mpg with elite defensive stats... so per 36 Jaren's just as productive on offense and rebounding, plus he's just as efficient a shooter, plus he's a far better defender.
So happy for Shai man he’s such a good dude, good to see people like him get some recognition, he’s gotta be one of the coolest young stars currently if not #1 just character wise, he’s the man.

@Jack The thing is we dont use this logic for guards tho. Jrue wasn,t an all-star once between 2014-2022 even in the season where he averaged 21.2, 5.0, 7.7 on 47.2% while being first-team all defense.

I'm honestly upset about DeAaron Fox not being an All Star I mean if not this year with the Kings playing so well then when? I would have him in over Lillard, Triple J, Lauri, and Paul George (and I'm a Clippers fan!) All those guys are deserving and great players but I thought Fox was a no brainer and I'm upset now :(

He's the frontrunner for defensive player of the year and he's averaging 16.5 pts, 6.7 rebs, and 3.3 blocks. And all of this contributing to wins as the Grizzles are the second seed in the west and one of the best defensive teams. Personally though I wanted Fox but I see why JJJ was selected.

AG definitely could've made it over PG for a forward spot (is PG even a forward anymore?). Similar PER and defensive stats, similar 3pt% but AG is more efficient overall. Denver 1st seed by a decent margin. He has also has played 46 games to PG's 37. Closer than some might think, still not quite a snub i guess.
You know how far their PPG right? 23+ to 16, that's significant. If there is someone you can question, it is Jaren Jackson Jr. His numbers are close to Gordon.

@Udi Shomer who the second best player on the team when healthy is irrelevant, Gordon has been the second best player for them all season, is their best defender and is putting up good numbers for someone who is just a good role player at pretty much 17, 7 shooting 58 percent from the field with the team with the best record in the west. He definitely deserves to be an all star

Godon is a great role player in Denver, but he is not an All Star. When they are healthy Gordon is Denver's 3rd best player, behind Jamal Murray.

@Gribbs JJJ has missed 16 games and most of them were early in the season. Plus Memphis wasn't doing too hot to start the season. And now ever since they started to roll and he's a big part of it. His return elevated their defense from 19th to 2nd.

These coaches should’ve done a much better job of taking winning into consideration when selecting for the guard position. I know SGA and Dame are great guards but D-Fox is putting up legit All-Star numbers on a WINNING team. That should have been rewarded.

As someone who watched all of Denver's games, I don't think Gordon is an All Star. Great role player, very efficient when he sticks to cutting and dunking and solid defense. When he tries to do something else like one-on-one or mid range jump shots, its sometimes embarrassing to watch.
