Alexander Zverev vs Dominic Thiem Full Match | US Open 2020 Final

Dipublikasikan tanggal 27 Okt 2020
Alexander Zverev and Dominic Thiem go head-to-head in the final of the 2020 US Open! One of them will become the first men's singles Grand Slam winner born in the 1990s. The last 63 men’s singles Grand Slam titles have been claimed by men born in the 1980s, a streak that dates all the way back to 2004 Roland Garros.
Zverev has struggled mightily with his second serve at this year’s US Open (49 double faults through six rounds), but the 23-year-old German has battled through those rough patches to take his place in his first career Grand Slam final. He became the first player to rally from two sets down in a US Open semifinal since 2011, when he defeated Spain’s Pablo Carreno Busta.
Thiem is bidding to win a major singles title after dropping his first three Grand Slam finals. He lost the first two against Rafael Nadal at Roland Garros (2018, 2019) and then fell to Novak Djokovic in five sets in this year’s Australian Open final. Thiem hopes to avoid joining Ivan Lendl and Andy Murray as men’s singles players who lost each of their first four major finals.
Zverev is bidding to become the first German men’s singles champion at the US Open since 1989, when Boris Becker raised the trophy. Thiem is already the first Austrian to ever reach a US Open final and he hopes to be the first man from his country to win a Grand Slam singles title since Thomas Muster won Roland Garros in 1995. No matter who comes away with the victory, this year’s US Open will crown a men’s singles Grand Slam champion not named Federer, Nadal, or Djokovic for the first time since Stan Wawrinka claimed the US Open title in 2016.

  • I like how positive them coach is in all situations

  • I was rooting so hard for Zverev. What a heartreaking loss. If he never wins a slap and ends up like Coria, I'll never get over it. :(

  • Well well well... How the turntables.

  • Base line view is the most entertaining and accurate angle possible. Still, no one provides it as an option. The standard view is so flat and distorted you never really understand speed, movement, power, trajectory, who's dominating the rally and so on

  • the worst final match ever...

  • perfect editing, bravo

  • it feels empty without the audience, the public....

  • They should have moved this to Florida.

  • Zverev’s ball toss is too inconsistent...

  • Now Zverev can put himself into the biggest chokers

  • Now we all know that Zverev could choke like Federer at least

  • Would have been nice to watch this minus the know-it-all comments of Jimmy. Condescending much?

  • O

  • 3:18:11 just realized how well this point was played from Thiem. He goes sooo far down to play the return, then slowly gain some territory while Zverev goes to the net, then turns defense into attack very aggressively, and wins the point in a powerful fashion. Strategically amazing.

  • That whispering commentator guy is hilarious

  • I could not believe my eyes watching this . Thiem came back like a super hero

  • Plot twist: The people commentating are actually just ramdom people sitting in the audience and talking to each other, but there's a microphone really close to them 🤣

  • Why did zverev have to come to the volley so often? 🤨🤨

    • Because thiem always gave him the opportunity to go to the net and he also made many aproach shots to make him finish the point faster

  • Zverev could have won the first two sets by the score of 6-2, 6-1. He wasted five set points at 5-1

  • Zverev could have won if he could have held his serve in the fifth set, when he was 5-3 up.

  • 2:26:53 Double fault Zverev: Cmonnnnn, lessgooo

    • @Oof Lord r/woooosh

    • because he broke back to potentially save the match

  • Quite amazing how this final unfolded. Zverev had it, lost it, had it again and lost it again.

  • Zverev's double fault cost him the match

  • Zverev choked. And thiem clutch on the right time.

  • Love this play...Thiem 👍💪🤗🥰

  • Why is one of the commentators whispering

    • because he was sitting by zverev's coach and they told him to be quiet

  • Thiem imitates Nadal in the way to celebrate GS

  • how did zverev not win this

    • @Paul Johnson thiem never lead Djokovic 4-2 in the 4th set in ao 2020. Thiem lost the 4th set 3-6

    • The same way, how Thiem did not win the AO2020- leading 4-2 in the the fourth set!

  • At last, US Open uploaded the very first slam final amid pandemic.

  • Theim deserved the tournament and Sachs deserved this match

  • oh goodness, stop with the what ifs.....He has beaten the Big 3 in the past, he's got nothing to prove...even the Big 3 won Grand Slams where they didn't get to play each other, so would you all say, their wins were invalid as well?...Thiem is the 2020 US Champion, period..

    • @鍾書維 Actually the French Open final was very low quality, especially for a match between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. It’s all about expectations; the US Open final was closer to meet our expectations than the French Open final

    • @angel91485 If you talk about dramatic sure it is. If you talk about high quality no way by a far distance. Yes he has proven he can beat the big 3. I hope he can prove that by beating big 3 in the slam final.

    • @鍾書維 did you watch it?..it was more exciting than this years French..he already beat Novak in the French, & Nadal in Australian, and Roger in Indian Wells Championships

    • Thiem deserves the title no doubt. But the quality of the final is just so low. Hope he could prove he can beat the big 3 in the gs final.

    • 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

  • I'm SO happy he lost after hearing he abused Olya multiple times🙏

    • Nobody knows if it's true... Maybe she want to get attention with her announcements But we all don't know the truth

  • Thiem is so far behind the baseline. He's almost stepping on the line judges' feet

  • The sound mix is awful. You cannot hear the commentators.

    • I know! It's almost like they were doing ASMR or something 😁

  • Where can we see full match replays of the semifinals also?

  • No extended winning celebration?

  • brilliant thanks

  • Only me who think Sacha deserves this match but thiem deserves the tournament

    • @Paul Johnson I think he will learn from this loss and improve his game for the next final

    • The one who deserves, is the one who executes, bad serving from 5-4, and cheap errors, he blew his chance big time, may never win a finals now.

    • Me also

  • More full match please

  • People saying, this belonged to Djokovic, Okay fine, This was his, but he lost it himself, he did a mistake, and Thiem was seeded 2nd, so he was bound to reach the Finals and Zverev seeded 5th is also great bcoz this was what was expected after Djokovic was out.

  • Thiem thoroughly deserved to win a major by now. He's played Rafa in two French finals and was up 2-1 against Djokovic in Australia, not to mention he's beaten both of them at majors. Well deserved victory

    • And then Novak faked a medical timeout to break Thiem’s rhythm. That’s the Novak tactic which I am going to call it from now on

  • Love the atmosphere in this stadium

  • Im glad Zverev the abuser lost

  • Thank you very much for uploading! 👍

  • This match was full of emotion between two close friends. Will forever be etched in our memories!

  • That's why I love US open tournament and channel.❤️

  • Yes!! More full matches please!

  • Australian open- prime djokovic French open- prime nadal Wimbledon- prime federer Us open- where the dark horses shine

    • Federer actually he wouldve won the one in 2009 if it weren't for the drama

    • Jimmy Connors 🤔🤔

  • 1:27:31~1:27:36 perfect 1:36:30~1:36:32

  • Thiem's coach looked so sad in the second set... little did he know!

  • 💖🎾

  • great match, it’s gonna be a classic

  • Zverev would put himself in one of the best US Open Finals of all time.

    • @Jonas Dilbert Totally agree with you. Ofcourse they would both be super nervous so close to a grand slam title, but sooo many double faults and ue:s

    • @Rishbah Pandey has nothing to do with this final but okay fangirl

    • @Paul Johnson Nadal >>fed😂😂😂

    • @Jonas Dilbert Thiem played badly in the first two sets, Zverev in the 3rd and 4th. The 5th was just a battle of minds & mental strength...

    • Okay then, I'm sure you'd have done much better!

  • In the thumbnail what is Zverev doing to Thiem? 🧐

  • Everytime when I see this final, I had tears in my eyes. This was my most emotionally tennis match in my life and Thiem was a true fighter and never give up! I will never forget this epic, incredible dramatic final match in my life, and I hope Thiem will win more than one GS.

    • @Phillip Spiß and a Djokovic hater i guess

    • @TiKiTaKaKenny I am 15.

    • @walktheworld We know that, but that doesn't mean it didn't have excitement

    • This match's excitement was not even close to the epic matches by Rafa, Federer and Nole...

  • Thank you so much for this! ❤️

  • Without fans, it looks something is missing

  • Wow

  • This match its an legend

  • Theim deserved the tournament and Sacha deserved this match. Thanks for the likes

    • I agree with Paul, a grand slam is a different match then a masters event. For example when Diego beat Rafa at Monte Carlo, then Rafa destroyed him very shortly after at Roland Garros. Thiem would have had a tough time with Novak in us open. But with Novak getting older 2021 aus open will go to one of the up and coming players!

    • @James Walker well said.

    • @Paul Johnson Yes in Grand Slams. Thiem already leads the H2H over Djokovic 2-1 at Roland-Garros. Thiem also forced Djokovic to 5 sets in the AO, his favorite Slam. Djokovic "only" has won 3 USO as compared with his 8 AO. Subsequently, at the USO Thiem had even more chances.

    • @James Walker Not in Grand Slams, in best of 3 sets yes- Grand Slams is a different beast, only Nadal on clay, and Fed/Stan on hard court, can beat Novak at his best.

    • Paul Johnson 80-90% certain in your dreams maybe. Thiem has won 5 out of the last 7 matches against Djokovic.

  • From India on 12.55 a.m..

    • thanks its 11:11 pm here

  • 7-6 at the 5ft for thiem

  • Looking forward to this one.

    • @Vik Sinha Zverev plays similar to fed? He mostly sticks to baseline and plays like how counterpunchers do. I think only tsitsipas is a bit similar to fed.

    • @Grand Amiral Thrawn They could go on and have a great rivalry. Zverev plays similar to Federer and Thiem similar to Nadal. Although of course unfortunately they won’t win nearly as many slams as the big 3

    • @Vik Sinha I'm with y'all. My two favorites players in a match that I liked to watch

    • @Moisés Mendoza. I put off all my homework to the next day so that I could watch this

    • Same here. Such a great match that I had the privilege to watch.

  • A nervous feast coming up from chefs Zverev and Thiem 😂

    • @TheBigSquirrel 50 haha

    • @Angejo ‘ there haven't been many videos to comment on lol, I've picked my spots 😉

    • bro. swear i haven’t seen you in eons. lol the big squirrel is still alive folks

  • this is going to be a fun one
