I'm Dutch so obviously hoping my country would win. But I've always had a soft spot for Ireland. Even though we have great supporters I think the Irish have even better ones. I always enjoy their celebrations, even after losing. Ireland should have made more goals in the first half because our defense was poor, but in the end the 1-2 victory was deserved I guess
I felt the same watching this, the intensity of the celebration and the passion from the crowd after that 2nd minute goal was something else! I'd want to see it on the finals stage if it weren't for the fact it'd mean we would stay home.. we already did that once (2002).

I would say technically the current Irish team is better than many of our teams in the past even those that qualified for tournaments, but there's not enough world class quality to be able to beat many teams at international level. Most of the team is playing in the Championship. Until we get more Irish players playing regularly at higher levels, even Pep Guardiola isn't going to get Ireland to a tournament.

After a defensive move the ball went up in the air but De Ligt didn't know where it was. When the ball decended it landed on De Ligt's arm. That was also a penalty
