Everything Wrong With Uncharted in 18 Minutes or Less

Dipublikasikan tanggal 30 Mei 2022
Uncharted is a movie based on a video game. It stars Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg and it's not very good and full of lots of stupid sins.

Thursday: Animated sins

Remember, no movie is without sin. Which movie's sins should we count next?

  • could we get an extra sin for the fact that Nathan Drake didn't shoot anyone in the movie, while in the games thats about half of all he does.

    • Or the fact when they are in the plane there is no cut when barcarddo slits marrcados throat?

    • @bookfound all of your mistakes 😎

    • @ARandomCatOnID-tv true

    • @ARandomCatOnID-tv yeah and the movie not

    • Yeah the shooting game does have lot of shooting

  • Getting Mark Wahlberg to mimic Sully's charisma is like getting a goat to bleat the national anthem

    • @StewyAdamRules it was only for money

    • My problem with the movie was (1) it was totally predictable. I guess after playing the game that was to be expected but they could've twisted it up a little. (2) Mark isn't Scully . I knew that before I seen it. (3) Should've been more action . (4) Where was Elena ? I kept expecting her to show up or did I miss her. .

    • @Bob The Goat not even close

    • Legend. Glad I'm not the only one that thinks he can't act.

    • 😭😭😭😭😭😭

  • The games were basically movies. The blueprints for a production film were right there. But Hollywood just couldn’t help themselves

    • I said the same thing uncharted are beautiful made games and this movie was just.............. dammit it sucked so bad I had to actually go back and play the games just to get this shit storm outta my head terrible movie so sad they did this shit SONY I blame you

    • @Mr. Cruz exactly what I be saying

    • @EviL Lemons I don't think people actually feel that way about movies and video games. Maybe movies and literature but not games because the movies almost never ever get it right...casting, story, setting, tone, etc...they always fail miserably.

    • @EviL Lemons Now that I think about it…

    • The thing with this is, would you rather watch and exact 1:1 copy of a game you’ve already played or just play the game again? Plus I’m guessing the studio’s contract gives them permission to use the characters but not to the story since copying the story exactly hurts the sales of both the movie and the games by splitting both. Some people start thinking “why play the game when I can watch the movie?” and others think “why watch the movie when I can play the game?” So unfortunately, the only choice is an original story that has to be condensed to 2 hours as opposed to a what 4+ hour game? The movie didn’t have a chance.

  • "Is he still playing Peter Parker?" Yes! That's exactly what I said during that scene.

    • @Cannon Jones Thanks!

    • @The Illuminati Literally the very beginning. It was one of the first jokes.

    • What time stamp of the video did CinemaSins say that?

    • Holland better hope he gets out of that Spider-Man shell, the whole movie I was like well thats not nate, not even close

    • Same here.

  • as someone whos beaten the first 3 uncharted games, may i ask if the filmmakers ever paid attention to their resources?

    • they borrowed some from the 4th game but it wasnt good either

    • 4th one is really good btw

    • the 4th game is the best of the lot in my opinion so you should definitely give it a playthrough

    • This movie made me so mad. Wasn’t good as a stand alone movie and wasn’t good AT ALL as Uncharted. Just made me mad. 1000+ sins.

    • Give the people what we want. Not that hard.

  • Not enough blood Not enough shooting Not enough killing Not enough swearing Not enough climbing Not enough moustache Not enough maturity Not enough length Not enough set piece scenes Not enough Nolan North Not enough brotherly bonding Not enough sexually flirting

    • @Kamen Trainer Horn I like to think she is the blonde woman Nathan steals from while he’s working at the bar. But there was no indication she was Elena.

    • Imma ask you this one time: where is Elena?

    • PG 13

    • so much cool stuff they could have done from the games

    • not enough puzzles

  • I’m a HUGE uncharted fan and I ask this: WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?! If this was just your average Tom holland adventure movie it would be fine, but they just had to add the game label to the movie. At least the last of us show looks great because it ACTUALLY USES THE SOURCE MATERIAL

    • I didn't mind this movies and the drake being too much like Peter Parker and not murdery enough I just took as it being a much younger Drake who hasn't taken a life before

    • The reason Tom Holland was attached? Sony. I have a feeling that when Marvel & Sony renegotiated the Spider-Man deal, Sony included a clause in Tom's updated contract that he must also sign on for multiple other Sony properties, Spies in Disguise, and this, relying on his Spider-Man fame being a draw for both. They could have gotten Nathan Fillion (as could Warner Bros for Green Lantern but they refuse despite him being PERFECT casting) or even Nolan North, and gone more faithful to the games, instead of doing a Tomb Raider/National Treasure ripoff based in part of the last 2 games

    • Literally bro. The beginning of the movie us EXACTLY like the first game. This whole movie was a video game cutscene. So trash.

    • EXACTLY MAN. I watched it about a week ago and I was just mad throughout the whole thing. It wasn’t uncharted at all. I didn’t find it good as a stand alone movie either.

    • EXACTLY

  • "Nathan Fillion isn't playing Nathan Drake in this scene" Not just that scene, but the whole movie

    • I would have loved that!

  • Keep in mind that most of these films do not start with "I have this great script based on a known franchise," and is instead "Make a movie exactly like this last successful film. Here's a random script to use. Change everything, but keep the name."

    • @Demimonde4 Archives Again, my argument is that Joker copies the style of other films, whilst providing an origin story that has nothing to do with Batman. Anything else is in your head.

    • @Happy Cynic. the details around them, all the time. The amount of times Bruce "remembers" a new detail of his parents murder is frankly insulting (including the time Joker did it, creating Batman). Meanwhile, superman left when Krypton exploded...or a few days prior...or it didn't actually explode. Once comic even tried to claim it exploded *because* he left. All of that is moot though, because we are talking about the Joker. The character, specifically, does not have a backstory to ruin. That's why your argument is being met with resistance. From the outside, it reads "The filmmakers got this part right, so I wont go see it." I'm assuming you didn't realize that was your argument? I find that happens alot in these kinds of debates.

    • @Demimonde4 Archives I said it was copying the directing style of someone else, not that it isn't original. And when you are dealing with an established character from other media, I prefer it when film makers stick to that. Has anyone ever tried to change Batman or Superman's origin?

    • @Happy Cynic. ...So only original content then? Cause, and I know I can't be the first one to tell ya this, but pretty much every story is based on something else. Classic Disney is just Grimm Fariy Tales, Action Anime are based on Journey to the West. Samson, from the Christin bible, is based on Gilgamesh, and that's not even the mention all the stories based on different parts of that bible. So what's the actual reason? Cause "its not original" or "its dfferent" didn't work in middle school, don't let it work now. OR, double down. If its actually the argument you want to stand by, then stand by it and stop pretending other fiction is somehow an exception :)

    • @Demimonde4 Archives I can't, because it's derivative of someone else's work.

  • I’m getting sick of movies where people have to solve a puzzle from hundreds of years ago that is in the middle of a modern city and no one has ever dug up the secret room while building a skyscraper, or accidentally dig a tube through it, and all the mechanisms and traps have been regularly oiled and maintained and still work flawlessly. They have become cliche and unbelievable….

    • @samuel Clark sounds good, I’ll add it to my wishlist!

    • @Ryan Hamstra it's all good. I suggest try playing one of those games because the video game does it better than this trash movie

    • @samuel Clark that’s true, I haven’t. Maybe if I had I would have enjoyed it more.

    • Spoken like a person that hasn't played a Uncharted game because stuff like that is in all 4 games

    • @semoremo Athens and Thessaloniki in Greece too , there’s whole ancient cities buried under our modern homes

  • Uncharted 4 is one of my favorite games ever, and just after watching the trailer for this movie I knew I shouldn't watch it because it would just make me too angry. Every character is about 20-30 years younger than they should be, they ruined every bit of the story that made the game good, all the "puzzles" are stupid as hell... I could go on. What a disaster.

    • @Thy BreadStick the original cast was Mark Wahlberg playing Drake, but the movie took so long to get into active production that he grew too old & they recast him as Sully instead.

    • @Rylan Storm Dr. Strange cast a spell that already made me forget

    • Tom Holland isn't a good actor. He's really good at playing the part of Tom Holland. Tom Holland is a very excitable young man and that just happens to gel quite well with Peter Parker. That's it You'll see... In 10 years we'll have forgotten this guy.

    • @Bob The Goat I'd disagree, Tom Holland's acting just doesn't do it for me.

    • I don't care that much about Tom Holland. At least he acts like Drake, but Mark as Sully is a complete disaster. I don't care that he doesn't look like Sully, but his performance is just default funny Mark Wahlberg and doesn't remind me of Sully in any way. Keep Tom Holland and recast Sully.

  • Out of all of the ridiculous reasons of why that treasure would have been found immediately, I really like that all anyone ever had to do was look down the giant hole.

  • Ok, in my humble opinion, this movie deserves easily another 100 sins for the complete disregard for science, and another 100 for the whole, “HOW DID NOBODY SEE THAT BEFORE WHEN EVERYONE WAS SEARCHING FOR $5B OF GOLD?”

    • My brother in Christ, have you ever PLAYED the games? The first game had the Descendants ffs

    • @Emperor Jahrome my guy said im a scientist 👨‍🔬

    • The villain is so dumb, she willing to risk the gold she carry chasing the other gold. She could have just secure one ship of gold and chase them after. I got it the story is not about gold is about fucking each other up.

    • @Stackali Except it wasn't hard to find. it was just sitting in a cave that anyone could swim into and thats completely visible from the top

    • When I watch this movie it just felt like uncharted 4 with different scenes and stuff I'm not just starting to realize is the uncharted series that lazy

  • 15:32 And this is not including the amount of waterlogging going on with the ship having sat in water for however long it has been sitting with zero maintenance. Which will significantly increase the weight of the ship by about 20%. There is absolutely no way at all that a single Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane could lift that. But then again, the Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane couldn't have lifted that ship even if it was empty and not waterlogged because the smallest of the carracks that Magellan set out with was called the Victoria, and weighed 85 tons empty. A Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane is able to lift, at maximum, a load of about 10 tons. That's not counting that as depicted in the film, the types of ships used by Magellan on his voyage were carracks. At the time of their use, these were not ships known for their resistance to the elements. In fact, constant maintenance was required lest they literally deteriorate while in use. Such ships, after having been abandoned and partially submerged, while also in a tropical climate, would likely have rotted away to nothing after such a time. That research also took me about 30 seconds.

    • Legend

    • Exactly. Even knowing none of this it still seemed ridiculous

    • @Kazuhira Miller I'm still failing to see the point. I was joining in with the channel in pointing out something that realistically wouldn't be possible. But hey, you do you. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.

    • @Trexel Cat There's that satire excuse. But also this whole thing is directed at YOU. Not the channel

  • When I saw the movie there were 2 other groups besides me in the entire theatre. This movie was a fun distraction, but it made my popcorn taste bad. I think one group had the same reaction because they left about halfway through. I sat through it, but the entire time I was counting the sins due to the misrepresentation of science. The only thing that kept me from leaving was knowing Tom Holland did most of his own stunts. I kind of wanted to see how crazy they would get.

    • Yep, I was there for Tom Holland's stunts, and ONLY that.

    • have you every played the games?

  • After being amazed with Arcane: League of Legends, time to be reminded of how disappointing video game movies can get.

    • @Sugoma nuts league makes me lose the will to live. the lore is wonderful, because its not run by the player base

    • @Sugoma nuts Because the game in itself, is a shit show. However, the WORLD and CHARACTERS of the game are great, and well done. Arcane is a great spectacle of a series, based off the game, which gives more life to this character than the game MOBA will ever do. As well as, you don't have to worry about toxic community, that you're fated to play with; it's a show you can watch and enjoy.

    • How do people make fun of LoL and like the production

    • @XDarkEcho I’ve never played League Of Legends, but I enjoyed it without any knowledge of the games before hand. What matters is that it is possible to please both fans and newcomers alike while breaking new grounds in a medium that is seen by some as kids stuff.

    • Arcane though, was made by Riot and their own established teams, so it only makes sense they would be able to craft their series the way they wished and envisioned. As well as, they have talented writers in their hands, and took their time. It's a shame that most of the time, adapting videos into movies always turn out bad, because of the short run time they have to use in order to place SO much into the movie itself. Maybe if they start just making series instead, they'd have better luck...though, looking at Halo from Paramount, that also doesn't seem like a good idea. Just need people who actually CARE to craft these movies/series, instead of people who just want to use the IP for their own means.

  • I absolutely love the uncharted franchise, couldn't count the time I've spent playing it but when i watched this movie I did think it was good but a little disappointing

    • A Little...disappointng?

    • @Juan Pedro_ MOV bro, have h played the 4th game? It’s literally a mixture of all 4.

    • @Joseph Crowe that was literally the least of the movie’s problems.

    • @Knight it’s not though. It’s a mixture of all the games, however it’s the least inspired by the first one. In the first one, they were at the island the whole time. Sully and Nate knew eachother. Nate was trying to save Elena. Sully got shot. Nate didn’t mention a brother. There was a final 1v1 boss battle, not Nate and Sully flying a helicopter. Literally the only similarity is the bad guys flew a helicopter out carrying the treasure. That’s it.

    • I agree.

  • 15:48 got me. I was laughing so hard. I haven't lol so hard at a CinemaSins video since "the sin counter" broke while he was doing an "Fast and the Furious" review.

    • I'm late af but omg that was hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

  • This movie deserves another 100 sins for completely disregarding all the significant things from the games

  • One way you can end up better for an hour-long flashback: you do the dramatic action sequence at the start, then cut to the past, do the whole movie, but this time you stay on another character that the audience likes, and use the flashback to arrange for the other character to pull off an improbable rescue. So instead of a rescue out of nowhere, the audience goes "oh I saw this! Nice!" I don't actually know any movies that do it that way.

    • The technique is called In Medias Res, which means to start the story in the middle. I think some games have done it well or have done things similar to what you mean, The Resident Evil A/B stories for example, where you'll intersect with the other character that you played first and it explains some things that caused the events to happen that way in the first place. Another example being the CoD Black Ops mission Rebirth where you storm a lab as the main character, Mason, and then take control of another character to hunt him down before he kills his target, using an alternate route and seeing events from another character's eyes to find out that Mason is a Sleeper Agent when you eventually hit the intersection of their paths.

    • One movie that did a flashback at the start spectacularly was one of the mission impossible movies. I forget which one but Ethan Hunt and his fake wife were tide up. Fantastic scene.

    • @Falcão hardly

    • @NCRxghost maybe

  • There are many more sins missed in this movie. 2 that I was hoping to see were: - Why write the coordinates down when Drake found where the gold was. He wrote down a fake one, I get why he did that, but he wrote another one down that shows where the gold is but uses his phone to find those coordinates and to locate the cave, and never needed to use the paper with the coordinates. - Sullivan took a short cut to get on the other side of the mountains only to be met up by the other helicopter he left behind who had to maneuver around or above the mountain and fly faster than Sullivan to cut him off.

  • I'd have added a sin for the goons happenstancing their way into a rave that just so happened to hold a clue for the treasure without going the secret way that main characters did.

    • Chloe

    • haha exactly! How did they find that rave???

  • Literally I scoffed out loud with the helicopter scene, no one else in the cinema seemed to question the weight

    • Sky cranes are made to lift rediciously heavy objects. But not at that speed

    • How about when they could’ve just hit their helicopter with their boat but pulled up instead

  • I laugh even when you sit here and rip into decent or legendary movies I love. And I personally thought this was a silly, fun, typical video game style movie like that of the game where you can do impossible un-realistic things and have a great blast. The fact the games are just as over the top with stunts and impossible scenes and still turn out to be one of the greatest video game series of all time is why I love the dorkyness and sillyness of this moive too. It isn't the best movie I have watched recently but it was fun, close to the franchise and just enjoyable past the easy to ignore mistakes.

  • The emperor's new groove started with the third act then jumped back, it was also super guilty of narration but I don't think the movie would have worked better without either. In fact I believe it benefits from both of them because it abuses narration to a hilarious degree and subverts the idea by having the character argue with the narrator version of himself when everything syncs back up.

  • 15:45 every once in a while this channel throws in a fresh reaction and I literally laugh out loud

  • One of the main things that annoyed me severely when I watched this, was the questioning of how NOBODY, in all the years that people would be looking for the treasure, found a gigantic hole in the ground large enough to pull an entire ship straight vertically out of it...

  • Minute 15:47 might just be the BEST CinemaSins moment EVER

  • OK can we talk about how fucking stupid it is that they managed to pack that much gold into that little of a backpack and not be stuck to the ground as if they have an anchor on their back because gold weighs a lot it’s a soft metal but it weighs a lot Not to mention Drake at the final reveal (spoilers) has like five gold bars in his pockets that he then gives to sully but your pockets would have holes in them because assuming you’re super human for the fact that you can just pick up gold bars without any effort then your pants are just gonna rip because of the tension

    • Just like Doom Guy carrying as many guns as a standard country's military would have access to. Heck, maybe even a tank in his back pocket for emergencies.

    • @Lazarus Hernandez Same with agent 47 in hitman

    • More of that videogame physics at work; have you seen how Nathan Drake can tirelessly hang off the side of a cliff/sign/ledge to remain out of sight of an enemy thug? Or how his clothes remain intact despite all of the obstacles, impacts, bullets etc... Drake endures? 😅

  • This movie should have come out 10 years ago with Bradley Cooper as Nate and Bruce Campbell as Sully Would have been Amazing

    • Ryan Reynolds as Nate. Campbell as Sully.

    • @pamowei berezi Uncharted 3 came out 11 years ago. It was big enough at that point. As far back as 2008 the idea of an Uncharted movie was being explored (ie right after the first game showed up in 2007).

    • @Max Madmax Ten years ago you would have also had the original voice actress for Chloe Frazer, Claudia Black able to do her role as well.

    • it felt like a movie from 10 yesterday ago

    • Joe Flannigan was my casting pick but, again, this was 2010 when they first started talking about an Uncharted movie. Nathan Fillion is a bad choice. Always was.

  • This sins video feels like a return to form. I'm not even sure why, but solid 10/10 sinning.

  • I've worked with some diving and salvage teams in the past and the fact that they thought it was a good idea to just throw some slings around a couple of 600 year old ships and just airlift them out within a couple hours timeframe was the most laughable part of the movie for me.

  • I personally enjoyed it, and yes I’ve played and beat all games except for the one with Chloe. It would of been better way better if they started with the first game etc. But I see why they did it this way, it would all be to predictable, yet amazing. Still a good movie but it should most definitely have been a good 30-40 minutes longer more story to tell. Also the clothes he’s wearing at the end are the clothes from 3 when he was like 15. So know I feel a little bit unsure how the next movie is going to be, but also I feel like it’s going to be both of the blondies from the games, the old girl who knows sully and Nate’s girl/wife from the games. The ratings for the movie are understandable. But for personal/ nostalgic moments and music from the games that all one GOTY I give the movie a solid 7.3

  • 11:12-11:20 One extra sin for how easily Nate was knocked out by Chloe. He had the perfect chance to get the drop on her when she lowered her gun and turned around. This made me laugh so hard.

  • A blockbuster based on a game that's based on blockbusters in general obviously gets you the most average blockbuster of all time.

    • Blockbuster is a term for a very popular piece of media. Something that keeps whole blocks (streets) empty, because people are glued to screens inside. This wasn't a blockbuster

    • @Wombat no. just no.

    • A blockbuster based on a game based on another game that draws most of its inspiration from another blockbuster. Uncharted movie > Uncharted game > Tomb Raider > Indiana Jones

  • Here’s a massive sin you missed: It’s said that the crew made the map and all these clues so they could find their treasure again. The treasure that the crew themselves hid. So, WHY do they need maps and clues to tell them where to find the treasure when they all helped hide it and would know where it is.

    • I could buy that 18 men might not remember exactly which island they'd buried their treasure on. However, what I do is make a note. I don't go and set up death traps in Barcelona.

    • I can see making the map, so they could go back and find it. What I can't see at all is them not fucking going back for it! The trip around the world, crossing the Atlantic and the Pacific, was literally hell for them most of the time, and the one thing that would make all the hardship worth it would be coming back rich...and they all just left the fucking gold behind?! They are the worst pirates I've ever heard of! At the very least, they could have sold knowledge of the treasure so they could make some profit from it in their lifetimes. They wouldn't care about their descendants hundreds of years later, at most they'd have had their kids go after the treasure.

    • To be fair that's a problem in U1-3 too

  • “I’m sweating like a hooker in church” “You brought a hooker to church?” “Why not”

  • I literally finished the movie last night and searched if you had done this yet. Movie is super forgettable.

  • The part where he "goes outside to scream" killed me. I haven't laughed that hard in a while 🤣 I love these videos keep up the great work.

  • Even with Tom Holland & Mark Walburg, you won't convince me that this isn't a National Tresure film with better production values.

    • nah calling uncharted a national treasure clone is a insult to national treasure 1 n 2

  • God I love this channel!! It may have made me the worst person to watch movies with but I stand by Cinema sins! Thanks for always making me Laugh out loud!! When the counter broke on F9 I died!

  • Im a huge uncharted fan. This film made me laugh at how silly it is. Trying the latest tomb raider film idea by copying the game elements. And you missed sinning Nolan north ammiting he has done the same thing they just done a little easter egg tho. Like anyone has done that lol.

  • There’s also a massive continuity error. Why is Chloe in this film if she’s introduced in the second game as a new character that had never met Nate.

  • Watching a good pickpocket work is similar to magic, look up Bob Arno, or Apollo Robbins, the use of pickpocketing in this film is actually super accurate to how it's done in real life

  • I LOVE the uncharted 4 and have such fond memories of playing it. I avoid this movie ever since I saw the trailer.

  • 1:33 Holy heck, how did they perfectly cast young Nate but mess up with the grown up!?

  • "Nathan Fillion isn't playing Nathan Drake in this scene." I've never agreed with something so much in my life.

  • Im so glad that I found a ID-tv channel that understands what I go through when I watch movies

  • Just... watched the Nathan Fillion and it was even more heartbreaking they took the entire plot from the one with Nathan Fillioin.... WITHOUT even a cameo this one broke my heart more than Tomb Raider.

  • I watched this movie just a few days ago, it was a shitshow, and I literally shared some of your thoughts while watching it, but I am missing a sin: how the fu*h* did noone find those boats earlier from that cave top opening (which happens to be exactly big enough for them to be airlifted out of) not to mention they came in with the skycranes, when they had no idea if the boats were even whole or not rotten.

  • No sin for the fact that Tom Holland has no business playing Nathan Drake.

    • @metallord69 well if you search him up, you’ll see what I mean.

    • @Thoughts Don't even know who that is so Imma take your word for it.

    • Dylan McDermott would have been the right choice.

  • I laughed out loud in the theatre when I saw this movie. The scene with the boats being carried was just too ridiculous. For real, Sully is the stupidest character, and the only reason I see for him winning the fight for Peter's friendschip I can see is... well, it can only be a romantic relationship to beat a platonic male relationship

  • Everything wrong with Uncharted: The film was made in the first place with Tom as Nathan.

  • I forgot this move was released until I saw it was available to watch. I'm glad I didn't. I am very fond of the Uncharted series.

  • "Can you name even one movie where it opened in the middle of a third-act moment then jumped back to the beginning after doing an 'I bet you're wondering how I got here" voice over and ended up BETTER because of it?" Yes, actually, I can: Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension

  • 12:54 Lone survivor. First scene or at least the one after all the montage of what I can assume to be BUD’s starts off with Marcus being med evac’d to a field hospital after the fire fights in the village and when they first get contacted and manages to be a truly great and heroic story told through a Film and yeah in my opinion it’s done pretty well, especially since most other directors wouldn’t have listened to Lutrell and instead don’t what they wanted instead of honouring those heroic and brave enlisted men through film so yeah there you go.

  • I genuinely enjoyed this movie for the pure nostalgia facotr bc it’s one of the first games I ever played with my dad I personally think they did really good with what they had

  • I doubt anybody had high expectations for this movie, but man, what a let down.

  • I went into this movie with low expectations but I was surprised at how much I actually enjoyed it. Especially being a fan of the games. I think one of the best nice little touches was that they had to work together to solve puzzles and even split up at times which is something that happens a lot in the games. Not to say that this kind of thing doesn't happen in movies a lot but the way it was done in this movie felt like a direct nod to the games.

    • Stealing other peoples comments.....SeemsGood.

  • The funniest line in this video" "F**k you! Enjoy your parade of bulls**t! I'm going to get some wings!" 🍗😂🤣

  • HOWWWWW could they possibly think Mark Wahlberg was the right choice to play Sully? Of all the things wrong with this movie, that just deserves a million sins on its own.

    • He has a little bit of star power. Maybe he wanted the role

    • See I was on board until I saw the stache, he can kill the role

  • Right off the bat, the 10 sins at the start for failing at physics, I was like "THANK YOU! I'm not crazy!" That bothered the hell out of me when I saw the movie.

  • The part where it switched from the young actor to Tom and said 15 (I think) years later but they looked the same age definitely deserved a sin. Love the cast but wrong for this movie. Mark would have made a better Nathan Drake age speaking.

  • I just watched another review of this movie. You, and your team could never have missed the obvious Oceans 11 Ripoff. It was practically a copy and paste moment. Yuck i hate that. George Clooney stealing the wallet from Matt Damon who stole the wallet from the guy on the Subway, was such a shock (yeah I can see the lift now when I look for it) It really set the tone of the movie, and with no narration, "Jeremy you like that 😜".The scene also proves that Clooney is the boss no question. Doing this direct steal (is that allowed???I know zero about copyright rules) cheapens the entire film.

  • Only megamind got the 'I bet you're wondering how I got here' cliche right

  • I still haven’t seen the movie and I don’t really plan to so I’m hyped for this video. Love the video games 😌🫶🏽

  • It's a decent film if you haven't played the games. As someone who loved all 5 games and played them several times, I can't ignore how much better it could have been. Makes me eager to see the upcoming tv series based on The Last Of Us though

    • this movie gives me brain aneurysms

    • I played the games and this movie is slightly enjoyable. It's not a travesty but I'm not in love with it.

    • It's like they mixed all the games' elements together into one thing, which feels extremely odd. There's the plane scene from U3, Avery's ship from U4, a Chloe dynamic like U2 and the main villain appears to be based on Navarro from U1

  • "Does Mountain Dew still make Live Wire?" Yes. Yes they do. It's a standard shelf item in my part of the country. And yes, that shit is awesome.

  • Even though it was a dumb reason to, sin #120 was legitimately very funny especially when the sound effects are said in the subtitles.

  • I think what bothered me the most was the directors not understanding that gold weighs a lot lol. Those boats should have never been able to be lifted up, (or probably float back in the day), and they toss around a backpack full of gold like it’s full paper.

  • Thank you. This is one of the laziest movies I've seen in years and it's just another bad video game movie to add to the whopping list. I literally only watched it because I had to be out of my apartment for 2 hours. That's all.

  • “Is Sully obtuse and unfunny in the video games too" My dear CinemaSins, you just made the biggest mistake of your life

  • The bit that got me (well one of the many) is the fresco in the Papa Johns with the giant frigging keyhole in it that noe historian ever investigated and therefore found the wanky mechanisms, secret rooms and tunnels etc. All that crap would have been a really interesting museum exhibit by that point even if they hadn't found the treasure......But that pales at the incredible willing suspension of disbelief destroying BS that is the fact that those ships even still existed......My house is in worse condition and it's only 70 years old! There would literally be nothing left of them!......And they're sitting beneath a huge opening that apparently no one has ever looked in to? WTF!!

    • And the drain by the fountain having an entire secret room down there. Don't they have drain maintenance, street sweepers, nobody ever dropped their keys down there? Seriously?

  • I haven’t seen this movie but judging by the sin count, I am not missing much. Will stick with the games

  • I just have to say this- if I'm correct, the scene with those empty wine bottles was in Europe. Nine is not that much for us

  • Jeremy walking away and raging is the best part of the video🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  • I was honestly disappointed by the movie, despite me liking the actors I thought the casting could’ve been better, but yeah I was looking forward to you making this video haha.

  • I remember genuinely enjoying the first half of the movie but then the last fiteen minutes were suddenly so RIDICULOUS

  • You should have included Nolan North’s cameo and taken off a few sins because that was the best part of the movie.

    • @MAX M.M. honestly I don’t even have a problem with Tom’s casting (well I do but I grew to be ok with it). It’s Mark that I really didn’t like as Sulley. Chloe also felt uninteresting to me. Unfortunately I gotta disagree with you on the Antonio thing. I really like him as an actor but in this movie he seemed very meh to me. My thought leaving the theatre was basically I wished they either adapted an existing games story or they created something entirely unique, rather than some mish mash of game events in an unrelated story

    • @Lone Star what’s wrong with fitting a cameo as a bonus for the few people that recognize it. The way the scene is structured, even people who have never played the games would think “oh that must be someone important in the games”. Imo it’s better than nothing, even if it’s forced

    • @MAX M.M. Oh yeah, Tom would be great as Tin Tin. Now you made me want to see him in a live action Tin Tin film :P

    • @MBOmnis Tom works as Young Nathan from Uncharted 3, but I personally always thought Chris Pratt could have worked as Nate (since Nathan Fillion has gotten too old to play mid-20's to 34 years old Nathan). The funny is that Nathan was around 25 in that prison section in Uncharted 4, and perhaps he was still close to that age in the first Uncharted, so Tom is the right age. He just doesn't have the height, body, or voice for it. Funny enough, he would make a perfect TinTin.

    • @MBOmnis everyone was miscast in this movie, except Nolan North.

  • I absolutely love the uncharted franchise, couldn't count the time I've spent playing it but when i watched this movie I did think it was good but a little disappointing

    • Stealing other peoples comments.....SeemsGood.

  • This is a good popcorn movie to watch in the theater. It cheered me up when I was really sad, but its not good for much else.

  • 15:31 It was at this moment in the movie that I burst out laughing as my brain powered all the way down.

  • by seeing this now, im sooo happy that i did not go to the cinema and spend my money on a movie ticket

  • I'm glad you made this, saves me time not watching the real thing.

  • 30 seconds in and holy hell, I would've actually watched this movie if it starred Nathan Fillion instead.

  • Can we get a sin for how Nate flips the pages of this hundreds of years old journal? We can assume those pages are fragile as shit and he’s flipping them like they’re pages from his composition notebook.

  • This video just confirms Jeremy has Chandler Bing's consciousness

  • Your videos have gone better and better throughout the years.

  • I was only watching it the other day because it was finally added to Netflix.. Watching the trailers it just didn't look like it was going to be a proper Uncharted movie so I never went and saw it in theaters. The casting was also wrong, having Mark Wahlberg plays Sully when he should have been playing as Drake? I don't understand that decision whatsoever. but when I got to the point of the movie where the girl magically stole the cross from Drake without coming into physical contact with him at all from a couple feet away.. I just said no fuck this movie and turned it off. and after watching this sins video showing all the stuff that I missed I'm glad I turned it off.

  • As somebody who recreationally jumps out of airplanes, the entire plane scene was bullshit.

  • He missed how the door on the ship instantly repairs after sully was thrown into it

  • "Nathan Fillion isn't playing Nathan Drake in this scene"

    • @m m Mark was originally signed on to play Nathan Drake when the movie first began early production in the late 2010s, and he outgrew the role so Sony decided to recast young & try to milk sequels as Tom ages through his late 20s into his 30s.

    • He Was In The Flim

    • @Random Chance easy as far as holland. holland is a money maker right now. marky mark. no idea.

    • Everything wrong with uncharted an actor with the same first name as the protagonist wasn't in the movie *ding*

    • How could they have put Tom Holland in this movie? Drake is nothing like Spiderman but that's apparently all Holland can play. Adding Wahlberg just cemented it's B-list sleazy status.

  • Felt super crappy today. And this has made me smile. Thank you. As a fan of the games series, I HATE THIS FILM

  • Can we get a sin for the fact that the treasure isn't cursed in the movie, even though half the time it is actually cursed in the video game

  • Yes because Sully can just hold onto easily hundreds of lbs of gold like it's nothing and on command aim it at the person farthest from him. It adds up

  • At the same year that we had an amazing movie adaptation of a hedgehog that runs at the speed of sound... ...we also had this.

  • I thought the same exact thing with the helicopters not being able to lift the pirate ships, and looked it up as soon as I finished watching the movie

  • "Therefore, obviously, he found out that gold and either hid out and died or sunk and died BUT he definitely found that gold, and I'm sure of it because he never returned" I'm giving cinemasins a sin for that one for false information. Magellan did DIE, but never out at sea, he got killed by the majestic fish man (Lapu Lapu for those "ACKSHUALLY" freaks) using a poison-tipped spear, honestly you guys should study first before doing these I mean you guys got a million subs *DING*

  • You missed where (I think it was Wahlberg) gets knocked through one of the doors when the ship is in the air. The door breaks into pieces but in one of the next shots the door is all back together again.

  • Well, I don't know if Antonio Banderas being in this makes me want to watch this entire movie myself, but it's a start.
