hey sean! keep all the angle iron from shipping crates, and then eventually you can make a mini bike with a harbor freight motor out of shipping container metal. that'd be hilarious.
That metal won't hold any weight you bend it with your hands easily
@MicRuLerZ that's why he makes it have lot's of layers. it can be done, it's just gonna be hard.
@Stephen Nyberg that Chinese angle iron is borderline garbage. It doesn't weld worth a shit. My little quad came in a crate with the sketchiest angle iron ever
@big chungus again, that's the point. build a flimsy,. worthless mini bike that barely holds up to riding, and then absolutely destroy it by riding it. it's just funny. and then the engine and wheels and chain etc. are still good to be used later.
Yes! Do it!
Wow Sean opened it with a pocket knife and not an electric chainsaw....He's maturing. No...he forgot to charge it.
Wine and Twinkie’s? It must be hard coming up with good content allllll the time. Bad content must be easier to make.. hahahah. TWINKIES IN THE BOOT!
Zack of all Trades you completely lost me at "he should only live life the way I say he should". YOU'RE the one that needs maturing. This is a FREE COUNTRY, and he can open the damn box however he feels.
@The Joker it's supposed to be funny! You're right it's a free country, so go ahead and keep get offended on the behalf of others and being a victim 😆
The biggest issue I see with the Lifan bikes is the low capacity of the engines. Lifan sells 350 cc versions overseas but in a country with 80 MPH speed limits all we get is the 200 cc version from online retailers.
Yeah. I own the kpm200 from the last vid. It's fine for speeds up to about 65, so backroads travel only. I've done a few 100+ mile trips on it, and it's fun, but FAR from effortless. You feel like the bike is really giving everything it can.
@TCR tbh thats most low power bike i got a 125 that has the same issue cos u have to rev em a lot to go anywhere but a 300 would be better so dunno why they dont sell em in the us when the license is easy to get from wat ive heard. (sidenote if u ever want to feel bad for bike riders look at the uk motorcycle licenses)
The biggest issue for Amazon Chinesium bikes is quality and spare part availability.
@Rollin Chunder that as well but if u had the brand lexmoto in america the availability isn't bad the parts are still low quality my mates 125 had a the whole handle break off somehow but could get the part to fix it
@sythen alpha Lexmotos are a branded Chinese bike...like Sinnis or Hanway. This though is an off brand eBay special.
It always hurts my eyes when I see new things being senselessly destroyed.
Same
same
TOTALLY AGREE!!!
And never broken in.. red line right out of the box I know they will run but a proper break in is essential if you really care about a motorcycle that's why they call it break in oil and everything but I guess if you have too many it's hard to do I'm not sliding him but wow
Agreed
While I never could understand what is fun in torturing a good new little motorcycle, I need to give credits to Lifan - this bike looks really solid and able to survive the life prepared by B&B for it (like the previous one, too).
They're that good indeed. Lifan is the same as Honda they all share the same design. PS: Yeah that torture isn't fun, it's cringey AF and that's what prevented me from liking this video or any other of the same style.
@Toxic 2T yup many people wanted to have one but dont have money to buy so that i why im annoyed treating even a chinese bike like that there is no respect
@umakemesmileswackin bro there's way better stuff than this on the used market for 2700 usd, no reason to buy these in North America unless you're specifically interested in an off brand bike
@Jordan lamoureux or you want a New bike so you dont need to Deal with used bike shenanigans
Amazing that the burnout takes the factory residue off the front tire. I prepped all new models for client pick up at a large yamaha/ktm/suzuki dealership and yes we would do low rpm no smoke burnouts but also did low speed sharp s pattern turning down the back street to wear the front clean and further clean the rear. Your front tire is more important to clean because your best braking power is up front and your front tire controls direction while cornering. Cheers!
Hilarious. I do feel bad though for the guys who buy these and really look after them and enjoy them. I have a friend , Paul who on his second Chinese bike in 7 years and commutes 30 miles each way everyday all year round. So far, touch wood, neither of the pure chinesium bikes have really let him down.
dude's lucky. Meanwhile other chinese bikes/scooters have such shit engines they can get holes punched through the pistons, which Sean and Craig actually found out with their motorized bicycle builds.
I like taking care of my machines even if it's my shit 10 year old leaf blower but after 7 years you'd think he'd invest in something a bit nicer
@Dead Baron that's not just a Chinese engine issue. Have experienced this a few times on both Japanese and American engines. Either running lean or an injector stuck open.
@Dead Baron if you let a aircooled engine run stationed it will blow up, regardless where it was produced.
@D. Messiah No they will not if they are designed right.
it didnt even have 1 mile on it, and you managed to wheelie drop it. brilliant!
Heck ya. It didn't even have 20 feet on it.
Sometimes I seriously Wonder about this guy.
My heart is breaking seeing this bike treated that way, i know it is a cheap bike but as man who cannot buy a bike it hurts me
I agree, looks like a decent get around town bike..sure beats a skateboard
This bike is garbage compared to what you could get second hand for cheaper.
@Silver1080p but for me treating a motorcycle like that is not good
@Silver1080p they are not so bad for what you pay for it. Its always been like this. Some people dont have the budget for nicer things. And being able to own a new decent looking scooter is a treat. Yes they wont last forever especially if you treat them like this knumnutz. But i had one that lasted for years then resold it and recouped a good portion of my initial investment (lol). And I still see it out being ridden. Its about having options!
I really enjoy watching you buy these from Amazon, it’s actually really helpful for people. Unfortunately I went to a dealer and buy my bike after so many years of not riding and totaled it less then 2 months in😭 broke my face but still love riding
Sean does burnouts and full throttles 0 mile bikes and we wonder why he doesn’t expect them to last long
I just want to point out that Sean cares about that bike so little that he put 87 octane fuel in it.
"remember anything on this bike is good enough hand tight" Words I live by as a mechanic.
Lived by this until my exhaust bracket broke exhaust fell off on the way to work lost my air cleaner Kickstarter fell off and carb and intake fell off all in the last three days lol
@Matt carpenter locktite is your friend lol
You know he isn’t serious, right… right??
This might be the first time I'm seeing sean being so careful
Sean: I bought a 2007 Harley Heritage Classic from you in 2020. It is a phenomenal bike and runs perfectly. However, you delivered the bike without Twinkies.
Ah man... I've had a bike since I was 5 years old in the 60s, now I'm almost 60 and didn't know about the Twinkies under the seat thing. My first bike was a little red and white 50cc Indian, I wish I still had that. Some of you might remember it, I lead a group of riders doing figure 8s in the 1969 Strawberry Parade. Now ya remember where ya saw me! lol Bless y'all and have a safe and happy New Year.
you 60 and your name 'Turd' ferguson ?? xD
@Umar Ya gotta admit Turd Ferguson is funny! The older I get the more fun it is to see young people's reaction. I have several funny T-shirts but one has a Batman symbol with the bat head missing below it it says "Ozzy wuz here". One has four cat faces painted to look like the KISS Dynasty album but above it it says "HISS". I'm 6'1" 210 lbs. one says "I beat anorexia". Ya shouldn't ever get to old to laugh.
That color is way better than what you asked for, lol. Actually looks pretty decent. I'll be keeping my old, low mile Honda VFR800 though....It has 108 wheel, does 150+, and 0-60 in 3.3...
Who
But do you get the full on racing experience? I bet not!
My 06 with tune exhaust and a couple bolt ons rides like a beast, smokes most 600s, and keeps up with my 1000 for a second
@Allen Mainieri Yep yep. Only thing I would trade my 05 for is an even lower mile 07 with the anniversary paint :-)
@UCrGNTKOoCfHvyvP4_tEfz0w To be fair, my stock 07 VFR800 has plenty of go and handling to keep up with my mildly tuned ZX-10R on the street and is light-years more comfortable. Sounds like E.I. has modified his (mine is 110hp at the crank) and thus, bragging rights in my book. I really like the anniversary edition paint and so do most folks who see it. Many think it is a new model. While you are correct that it is not a sport bike, she sure is sporty where it counts. Sometimes the old guy knows a thing or two. If you ever get the chance, take one for a spin... plus it's a V-4! You have to admit, they sound oh so good. Cheers brother!!
To be fair it handled getting dropped better than I expected.
Every time you get a motorcycle, you must drop it in the parking lot after pulling a wheelie within 5 min of its first ride.
That’s exactly what happens when people buy a liter bike for their first bike haha
no dump it at higher rpm
While not even wearing a helmet...
I can’t stop laughing at the part where he was doing the burnouts & it lifted out from under him 🤣😂😂😂 the slow-mo pause was perfect to lmao the bike was straight up & down & he was just standing there like “oh f*ck” lmfao 🤣😂😂🤣🤣 I love these guys & this channel, never fails to make my day I swear 😬😂👍🏼🤙🏼
That's actually a beautiful bike. I don't know about its quality, but if it was made by a reputable brand, I'd buy it. Chinese aesthetics are catching up imho.
To be honest, Lifan make great strong little engines, and they're cheap as hell to replace when they finally go. It'll be other things like wiring connectors and electrical components that will cause grief, but the Chinese are getting better and better at it. keep it out of the rain and it'll be fine. This is certainly no worse a bike than a budget scooter sold in many countries from the big Japanese 4. Here in Australia we are starting to see a lot of Chinese scooters and some motorbikes and people don't really report too many problems
@Chris Pekel You can buy a 125cc honda and yamaha for around 2.5k euros. You can't beat that and it's down to the extensive decade length r&d and their industrial facilities. So for now, the chinese are way way behind, but they're catching up rapidly.
@Brennen That is true, but even then they produce a far less refined product, because it's one thing to see something and understand it and another to try to recreate it, especially with low quality materials. That's where they lose out.
Lifan is definitely a reputable brand.
These bikes are crazy with how long they last. My friend had a kp mini and it lasted a while before getting stolen, then got a KP expect and put way over 10,000 ROUGH miles before the odometer stopped working, he would offroad it and drive it as his daily while doing grub hub. 3rd gear went after 12000 miles
I'd like to see you address the build quality issues of these bikes...maybe even rebuild them top down to see how much better they could be if the manufacturer actually gave a crap about how these things come out of the factory
I would have gladly gone dumpster diving for the old 200, to have something to learn on. Since you did it yourself though, do a full comparison of the old and new models. 0-60, top speed, braking, etc. Could be a fun video.
@ 12:12 "These tires are the worst!" Then instantly it hooks up to prove you wrong for 1 split second lol Awesome video!!! Thanks for posting. 🔥💪
Great video Sean and crew I enjoy your adventures with motorcycles off of Amazon. You sure put them thru the paces. Hope your not abusing that old Dodge timber truck. Have you made up your mind on what you are going to rebuild. Waiting to see what that might be. Hope you have safe travels and Take Care
Ahh yes the twinkie test, they looked at me like I was crazy at my local Harley dealership when I walked in with a box of twinkies and an 8mm socket to take the seat off, but I got 9 under the seat of my street bob before they made me buy it
For some people bikes like this is a dream, seeing you carelessly handle the bike hurts us
This is just a difference on value and price perception. Nothing personal. This bike in my country would cost 10x more so I know how you few hahahaha
Hey now you know american mentality. Maybe one day it has it's value, too.
I mean…. All the bike in his garage it makes sense why he isn’t as attached.
I had a 125cc as a first bike and it was stolen, I never bought another bike but honestly I'd love this bike as a startup, seems cheap enough to maintain. Love your videos btw
I have a Chinese Enduro and everything on it is cheap. The engine has been reliable and it's easy enough to work on, but something was always breaking or falling off the first couple hundred miles. If you know how to set valve clearance and do a little electrical troubleshooting, and don't mind doing it often, it's a good step in the door, but after everything is said and done you might also look for a used Japanese bike for a few hundred more.
Keep on going with these Amazon bike videos idc if you buy most or least expensive bikes idc if you just buy bikes off of Amazon I just love these reviews
You guys should build a mini bike with all the framing that comes around that bike!
The metal is garbage, it's not as strong as you'd think
8:50 out of everything ive ever done to make grandpa mad, leaving his tools outside to get rusty was what made him the most upset
I bought a Lifan xpect 200cc dirtbike from Amazon last year and put around 600 miles on it so far, it’s been a fun bike and I can’t complain. It’s no Honda or Yamaha but it’s still a lot of fun for it’s cheap price tag.
It actually has a better looking headlight area than my ZX-14R has, but the big Ninja would kill it in any type of race. Crazy how you crashed it right off the bat. Ride safe!
“And that’s when I realized at this very exact moment I needed to change the oil on my pick up truck” that had me gone after that 😂😂 I thought he was gonna say something about the bike 😂😂😂
It’s got a 0-60 time comparable to some big names like John Deere or even Power Wheels… “King of the road!”
That cage is 10x better than the first time you got one of these, almost could re-use it if you all needed to ship a bike
A few years back, when American Lifan was about to bring these in to the US, Lifan in China actually was racing the KP150 and KP200 and the 200 was a winning bike in the domestic class. I think that is where their term, "You can experience the thrill of championship racing" came from. The funky color in the ad is no longer available, but it was the color on their racing bike. For a small displacement, minimalist bike (key word--minimalist meaning you are not expecting 150 mph runs), and as this channel showed 2 years ago, this bike is not bad.
It’s cool that you got a serviceable battery with it, would be good to know how that holds up against the gasses though
So glad to see you guys at 1 Mil! Great content and awesome job :)
Craig's new stickers were funny but even a funnier was throwing the trash in the back of the truck also. Even though its not a truck. Also when you picked it up all I heard was the nuts you lost .lmao
The red and white looks way better than the blue and yellow you ordered lol
My son and I just finished a 15k road trip. He rode his 1 yr. old Lifan 200 and I rode my 75 Honda CB 750F. Both did just fine. I got 23mpg and he got 61. He now has 21k miles on it and I have 467k. Yes, she has been rebuilt 3 times and is now 915cc's pushing 115hp to the ground.
I paused at 7:09 to say if Craig complains about them stickers and drives a Honda Ridgeline im gonna be even more disappointed lmbo jk love yall both thanks for all the hard work and dedication you put in for the videos and thanks to Craig for being a great bike mechanic yall are awsome
3 years later.... Sean learned a chainsaw is the WRONG TOOL. Moment of silence. Proud of our brother....
So Sean basically just became the Linus of the bike world
I love when this man buys vehicles from Amazon
That must be a world record, dropped before it had been ridden 100 meters. Man that was hilarious.
When you hit that motorcycle with the van cracks me up every time, this is definitely my favorite channel.
That stuff is called "Release" and is used so that the rubber will not stick to the mold when extracting the tire.
All the major manufacturers have stopped using that since the 80s. Improvements to molding technology, rubber compounds, shipping preservatives make the tires slippery. Maybe the Chinese tires are coated.
I think you should build a bike out of the steel they package the Amazon bikes in. Make it better than the Amazon bike you bought. Lol
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I used the angle iron from one of those to make a replacement fairing bracket for my sidecar. I made 1/8 inch wide cuts on one side 1 inch apart. It bent perfectly to the radius I needed. Then I welded the cuts and cut lexan and attached it. It's better than the factory made fairing.
As always, an enjoyable and great video. Thanks for sharing (and not only the bike stuff but The Word too ! ) 👍 I wish I had known that about the Twinkies ….. maybe I wouldn’t have smashed my Sportster 🥴
That was the best wheelie I've ever seen. I couldn't stop laughing. Love it.
My first 50cc was from chineseum as well. The only good thing was Honda Monkey knockoff engine. I gave up for plastic bodywork. What fell off was left. Plus the plastic was kinda strange. It cracked whenever gas touched it. First I found the chain wheels were there for 110 variant. This made my starts funny, because I had to helped it by running on my feet. The electic parts had to be changed in first week. After that I removed battery because with it the headlight was dim like candle. Then the carburetor intake hose ruptured. Repaired by cloth and some seal. Last thing I found was the bearings in the rear swingarm were plastic. When they broke, the rear wheel was moving in all directions. To sum it up. It was driveable after 3 months of repairing. Good experience for me to understand what is in the bike.
What we have come to realize is that he does this so that we dont have to 😂😂😂😂 love to see it
I am so glad you do these critical tests for us as personally I would not trust a motorcycle that comes from Amazon one bit... 😬🤣
Lifan builds tens of thousands of bikes, they're all over Asia. Quality is cheap but they do the job. They're more reliable than something like a Ducati any day of the week
That might be a new record to drop a bike. Zero mile drop! You handled that like a true gentleman. 🤣🤣🤣
That burnout wheelie drop cracked me up. Always entertaining.
Sean seems hungover as all hell in this one haha!
Hey Sean @bikesandbeards I'd like to do a long term review on this bike! Ever since I had my 2015 versys650 stolen I can't bring myself to buy another bike. This bike would be perfect as relatively lightweight. Would drive it everyday and post update videos. Let me know! I also was the one reaching out for the video position but never heard from y'all's! But that's fine 😎 God bless
They sprayed a release agent into the tire molds before cooking the tires. We always used to scuff up the tires with sand paper when we got new a new set.
Lifan has made some of the better bikes out of China for at least 15 or 20 years. They make perfect copies of the old Trail 70s, with twice the CCs and some cool options. They also make perfect replacement parts for the old Honda bikes.
8:47 “If you don’t have power tools. Take them from your dad and leave them in the back yard.”😂 This truly broke into a memory I hadn’t looked at in awhile. I’d hear about it for weeks even when I’d return them.
Honestly, the fact he just let that thing go shows his experience.
When we bought our ZH2... we also had it "delivered". (Because we just wanted to experience having a motorcycle delivered, rather than driving it home). But yeah, they also didn't have a way to put it down from the truck. Luckily, we own a gym, and we called a few people to lift it down from the truck. Just a funny memory that I remembered. Lol.
They've gone from informative and entertaining, to a lesser format. Shame, as I really enjoyed most of their uploads to date.
Yes, spoiled by rather childish behavior, like they were 12 year olds.
Hey Sean! I'm a big fan from India. How about a ride or review of any Royal Enfield bike? Meteor 350 or the 650 twins? BTW, there are scoops that RE is working on a 'Super Meteor' with the 650cc engine. Would love your thoughts on the bikes!
That brand Lifan is relatively more reliable than other Chinese brands out there. I had a Lifan scooter for 10 years and I never had problems with it, the parts are the same as the big 4 brands so maintenance is a breeze.
The tire mold thing was a myth. They were actually slick because of som chemical compensation between concrete and new rubber.
What do you do with all the excess metal framing that secures the bikes?
That was entertaining! The accidental ghost wheelie was epic!!! I can't stop laughing!
when you dropped the clutch and let it fly I died laughing
That was hilarious. 😂 Loved the burnout wheelie slam... Lol
Gotta give a like for the changing your oil on your pickup joke lol
I’ve been watching this channel since the very first video I saw. I think you were around 30k subs. My all time favorite I follow.if those shirts would have came out in the summer months definitely would have purchased one, but it’s winter in northern Michigan, with Christmas right around the corner, so funds are tight otherwise I’d buy one fo sho. So with that being said you should do another print run after the holiday season. Anyway, awesome video as always
Bro im legit crying at the fact you sent her right out the box and laid it down with not a care in the world 😭😂😭😂🤣
Your videos are awesome Shawn. Thanks for the great humor! I think I will take my chances by finding a used Honda on Craigslist. 😉
I can't even ride a motor bike but I still love watching this motor bike channel lol
I will ride mine for you !
Can't ride? We gotta get you a custom made bike you need the feeling
@Billy Joe Perkins lol
2000 grit wet sandpaper should get any mold release spray off without being rough or damage the tire. Do it before mounting them. It's like riding without the dangers of breaking them in.
racing.. now Shawn's gonna go hit all the tracks an win all the money from every race.. boy his wife's gonna be happy an proud of him now
Twinkies? Oh snap, I've been doing it wrong for 55 years of riding bikes. I've been stuffing HoHos under my seat. Well, unless it is super hot out, then I stuff ice cream sandwiches under the seat. Thumbs up for straightening me out on that one.
The gas trip killed me 😂
It's may be a cheap bike but this Lifan KPR actually a dream bike for some people where I belong. As a bike lover, I felt bad the way you treated the bike from very beginning. 😐
Take it on a hare scrambling! Please! That'll be the best "championship racing" ever on a 200cc street bike. I GUARENTEE it'd be a awesome video lol.
They do sell 17 inch dirt tires. But that suspension would never make it, lol...
Please keep making a video man,you just living the life that i dream,im indian and christian.love from india.
Man Shawn is so cool so likeable I swear he's my brother. Love you brother.
You should definitely try Ariel Rider Grizzly. It's in the same price range but waaaay more qualified than any other brand
Just ordered the T-shirt. Should be a fun ride back to Austin on the pit bike! :) You should track day that Chinese bike to see if it would hold up.
I've loved bike's all my life..I've tried to grow a beard all my life.. why have I only just found this channel.. much love from the UK 🙏✌🇬🇧👊💚
You should change oil before riding. They are usually super low from factory.
All china bikes come shipped with transit oil and it is put in just in case someone starts it by accident without putting engine oil in it.
@Polecat No its not its breakin oil. Most people go 50-100 miles before putting new oil in it
That cracking sound when ya smashed it with the bottle had me rolling 🤣🤣🤣
Its shocking how much the production level has risen after 2 years of Bikes and Beards...
The Chinese are where the Japanese were in the late 70's IMO. We in the west just don't want to admit it
in Latvia we have alot of lifan bikes.. more specifically dirt bikes that go used for 200 bucks..or so .basically in latvia its like a bicycle for those who live in a little bit more romote town. Everyone has had one and dealt with fixing it.
I think this Championship caliber bike deserved some 93 octane.
It’s funny to see that Craig aka the DYIer of bikes & beard drives a Honda truck, he’s always going for the reliability
Instead of destroying the bike immediately, why not take care of it and see how long it would last. this is getting old.
Its all about ID-tv views
Chinese make good cheap bikes so it'll last as long as you want it to with servicing - so not very interesting for views
How much to bet Sean forgets about those Twinkies until years down the road when he wonders why ants keep paying this bike a visit?
I haven't made it 7 minutes and my day is already better sean. God 🙌 Bless..I can't ride again yet considering I was in the ICU from late 2020 to febuary this year from multiple organ failure (blood disease) but when I CAN, im gonna ride to Pittsburgh for family, and I'm coming by before heading back to NC! Thanks for keeping it positive in such a , at times, hard place. God is good, cant wait to get back in the wind! Also Craig? I'm not sure what you did yet, but it's your fault..jk ALL the prayers! Raleigh NC
And here I was, wondering why my bike smelled like burnt Twinkies. Imagine my chagrine when I found out I'm just not enough of a motorcycle guy to know the secret good luck charm
Sean's agent who watches him through his computer is confused on why he searched "lobster motorcycle"
