Director Wes Ball breathes new life into the global, epic franchise set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, in which apes are the dominant species living harmoniously and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.
“Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” is directed by Wes Ball (the “Maze Runner” trilogy) and stars Owen Teague (“IT”), Freya Allan (“The Witcher”), Kevin Durand (“Locke & Key”), Peter Macon (“Shameless”), and William H. Macy (“Fargo”). The screenplay is by Josh Friedman (“War of the Worlds”) and Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver (“Avatar: The Way of Water”) and Patrick Aison (“Prey”), based on characters created by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver, and the producers are Wes Ball, Joe Hartwick, Jr., p.g.a. (“The Maze Runner”), Rick Jaffa, p.g.a., Amanda Silver, p.g.a., Jason Reed, p.g.a. (“Mulan”), with Peter Chernin (the “Planet of the Apes” trilogy) and Jenno Topping (“Ford v. Ferrari”) serving as executive producers.

  • God… I feel like a kid again anticipating a movie to hit theater.

  • Loved the reboots. Hope this keeps with good story 🤞🏽

  • The anticipation for this movie is giving me major nostalgia vibes from my childhood. Can't wait to see it!

  • "Together we are strong" is such a cool callback to Caesar in the original.

    • For real

    • It'll always be learned by the smartest apes and smartest humans eventually, a universal truth

    • Honestly hoping that our protagonist is a descent of Ceasars or a relative

  • I'm mind blown at how a movie about talking apes can be so captivating. The power of good characterization and good storytelling.

    • Good eye

    • Lots of parallels to other religious symbols such as the cross in Christianity. In early Christianity the cross was representative of liberation from an old order of domination and yet by the middle ages the church was an institution which kept the status quo and kept the masses oppressed. Just like Caesar wanted only to liberate apes, the window symbol has now gone from an emblem of freedom to an emblem of repression.

    • YEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS!. By that I mean I agree.

  • I'm 53 and was obsessed with the original franchise in the 70s as a kid. I'm glad I lived to see it be rebooted. These movies are amazing and it may be the best franchise ever created. I just hope, we as fans, get to see the franchise come full circle and it ends (or starts a new trilogy) with a remake of the 1968 movie. Please give us that!

    • I'm 67 I've seen them all. I have all the moves. I just learned about this today I can't wait

    • @@LennyMolnar-rs8df friend, there is a prequel trilogy that you need to watch before this one: Rise of the POA, Dawn of the POA and War for the POA. Chem them out.

    • But is it a reboot? Isn’t it a continuation of the prequels to the original from 1968? Isn’t a reboot like a restart? Greetings from Germany, I’m also looking forward to this movie ❤

    • Agreed. The real miracle would have the apes evolve into the 1968 version, no remake required.

    • @@LennyMolnar-rs8df i am 21 . I grew up with these movies. I recently saw the old ones . Masterpice of a franchise

  • I haven't felt this much anticipation since I was a kid counting down the days until a new movie release. It's like rediscovering that youthful excitement all over again!

  • I'm not gonna lie, Proximus is already shaping up to be one of the best villains in a franchise where they're consistently good.

  • This is what happens when a studio gets a good amount of time and a good budget cuz this looks amazing

  • You have to love how loyal the fan base is to this franchise, and the effort and care dedicated to this franchise.

    • For real when looking at the comments, everyone is so positive

  • Proximus is one freaky looking mutha.. But I love it! Planet of the Apes character development is always on point

  • This series since its reboot has been consistently one of my favorites! The writing is incredible, the landscapes are incredible, the action is very strong… I’m super excited about this one!

  • So cool that they're reclaiming the past. Like at 1:20 the girl and the ape together realise that this seemingly innocuous random tube thing is actually a machine that can look to the stars

  • 2024 about to be lit 🔥

  • 1:20 the wise orangutan's voice is so on point. I feel like an ancient Greek or Roman scholar/Philosopher is there. The entire movie is has the best voice lines. They must have hired some many great voice actors.

  • If they can continue to pull this off this may become the greatest series if movies weve ever seen

    • 🤔 Hard to say. Maybe against "Lord of the Rings" or "Transformers", but the "Harry Potter" films were pretty high up there in money making and praise from the fans.

  • I'm genuinely terrified for this film. Coming off of the heels of the Trilogy, it's got some gigantic shoes to fill.

    • Wondering what time they are referencing also.. Can’t be talking about the zoos, pretty insulting..

    • During the 300 year gap maybe they did for some period of time.

    • There are more time periods other than the modern era. Humans used to live in nature. Zoos and animal testing being commonplace is a very new thing.

    • Might be a reference to apes like Caesar and Koba . Those apes had to have left behind something like a ape bible

    • Maybe during the time when humans were still ape-like savages😅
