  • If you've been personally victimized by Jarvis's milky goodness, you may be entitled to compensation.

  • deciding whether or not to date someone purely based off of how well they can fall down stairs should be a show all on its own

    • Justin Trudeau would win every time

    • @Your Automaton Author Patent it now bro.

    • @Your Automaton Author best comment, you win the internet

    • It should be called “Falling for You”

    • I'd absolutely watch that shit. Probably for a lot longer than I'd admit to anyone.

  • So much of my high school years was watching these shows and I can’t defend myself.

    • this and parental control

    • I definitely thought these shows were real when I was younger, but there’s no way that every episode was THIS bad

    • @Ravenclaw_Charm WOOOW 😱 Man, that's crazy.

    • Still think its better then the Kardashians, the Paul bros, The ace family, Most content creators. Cheezy acting over people that got famous for a sex tape, filming a dead body, scamming everyone (dink doink, and lootie from ace family), and they are kid friendly lol. At least ours was so cheezy and fake and every person was a stereotype. Not our era didn't have its awful parts though but i think our content is a bit safer

    • Fun fact: the major reason VH1 (and probably MTV) suddenly stopped producing those dating shows is because a contestant from "I love money" killed his girlfriend. They halted all productions due to this and by the time that blew over the world was already changing to the next big thing. I didnt know this at the time when i was in High School and found out about this like 2 years ago.

  • It's honestly wild that people were acting like this *before* it could get you to go viral on social media

    • Before social media, people were doing WILD things

    • also myspace fame was a thing....

    • @M A C yeah, so basically nothing has changed lol

    • To be fair, reality shows were the closet thing to going viral on social media back then

  • crazy how SA and harassment was so common and accepted back then. we've come a long way already, still a lot to go but we're on the right path

    • Damn. I read this as “crazy how South Australia and harassment was so common and accepted back then.”

    • @Lynn JustLynn and why none of the men respect them either =\

    • @Master Markus it's still not exactly _un_ common either

    • I remember there was an episode of next where the man shoved an egg right up between the womens legs then nexted her when the eggs broke for women being shocked. I remember that scene so vividly because it felt so wrong to watch.

    • @chimppower everybody was playing stereotypes of their race. Didnt matter where they were from.

  • someone should start a podcast where they contact the people that were on this show and see where they are. actually, they should do that for all the unhinged 2000s dating shows

    • Laci from Rock of Love has a podcast where she talks to all these people

    • possibly failed actors?

    • There actually is Reality Talk Podcast, where yeah they interview various reality show people.

    • That would be such a good idea, just imagine all the crazy stories that could come out of this wild shows

  • The gay & lesbian versions were even better. Especially when they just hooked up on the bus because they decided the main "dater" was an asshole.

    • i need links to the gay and lesbian versions for research purposes

    • @Elizabeth Holden *thats* were that comes from??? Holy shit

    • There was one dater who said “god might forgive you for being gay, but he will never forgive you for that haircut” 💀

    • That was so funny lol. i also loved whenever they took the money and went back in the bus they would ask them "so what did you do?"

    • Honestly,,,, kinda fits a hilarious amount of gay people I know

  • Dating shows frequently lie about people's ages, especially women, to make them younger - so I hope that makes you feel better Jarvis haha

    • @S M I vividly remember that episode, he was into like a burlesque kind of girl who was poised and gave them a tray of drinks and without much warning he would put an egg between their thighs and if they broke the egg or dropped the tray they were nexted. idk why they aired it. so creepy

    • @Ravenclaw_Charm wh-what?? Why would he do that? What was he testing?? Why does a cracked egg = a failure? There’s so much going on wtf

    • I remember there was an episode of next where the man shoved an egg right up between the womens legs then nexted her when the eggs broke for women being shocked. I remember that scene so vividly because it felt so wrong to watch.

    • In no way is this better

  • Only thing I appreciate about this show; everyone is an average person. Not all the same, or "conventionally attractive" people like most dating shows. I give them some respect there lol

    • Yeah, they’re also presented in a really wacky way. It’s not like they’re picking up big businessmen and models and treating them like they’re a huge deal. Although racist and sexist, it’s somewhat nice to see no one person being the focus for too long or some people being presented in a worse way than others in this kind of TV show. Everyone’s kind of a douche and imperfect in these shows, and everyone’s also a douche to each other. Which is probably a more accurate representation of humanity.

  • i struggle to come to terms with the fact that these people are just out there somewhere. living life. i wonder how they’re doing.

    • I think Dicky, one of the nutter butters from another episode, works for Google now.

    • @PitaFlores good good. That must be a fun story to tell at parties

    • @The Destroya System before they even met

    • @PitaFlores I forgot what I had said and read "chill" and wondered why I would have been mad lol

    • @PitaFlores bro you just opened a repressed memory i think there was also one in Argentina lmao

  • Imagine being Jarvis’s neighbor and hearing, “MY NAME’S JARVIS AND I’M HERE TO GIVE SOME OF MY MILKY GOODNESS!” but very muffled.

    • im just assuming its a kink and moving on with my day lol

    • someone should make one of those 'you're in the bathroom at a party and bad guy is playing' type 3d sound videos but it's 'pov: you're jarvis johnson's neighbour' and the video is a still image of an apartment while you hear the milky goodness line muffled on your right as though he's on the other side of the wall

    • I would 100% wrestle with calling the cops vs. pressing my ear to the wall to try & figure out where shit went from there...

  • Fun fact, the writers strike was around 2008, and so trash reality became HUGE. Then they realised how cheap it was to made. I reckon they gave some actors from the local improv show some lunch and $20 and then made this show..

    • @Moni B Yeah I had a moment where I mixed up the shows since they sound similar and this was over a decade ago lol. but i remember that i heard that is what also changed things. thanks for the correction.

    • @Ravenclaw_Charm Actually, that contestant was on both Meghan Wants A Millionaire and I Love Money. That contestant went on to win Season 3 of I Love Money and because of the investigation of the murder, both shows were cancelled.

    • @Andrew Ollmann thank you for correcting me I know it was something about money. Must have mixed them up but yeah that changed everything

    • @Ravenclaw_Charm It wasn’t “I Love Money,” it was “Meghan Wants A Millionaire.” Meghan Hauserman was on “I Love Money,” though.

    • Eh... The Swan was 2004. The Pickup Artist was 2007. It was just a terrible time for the culture.

  • Did anyone else catch onto the fact that the guy who only earned a dollar last time got nexted for calling his date juggs.... which means he called a girl juggs within a minute of meeting her ???

    • Holy sh*t, you're right. Oh my god

    • @Brook Oh of course! Thanks

    • @Eva it's referring to big boobs. Calling a person jugs means reducing them to their beats :

    • What does juggs mean? Not an English speaker

  • I'm starting to feel like this channel is just Jarvis being that friend that shares disturbing stuff with you so they aren't alone in their misery

    • Thats how its always been lol. And thats exactly why I love him

    • That's Jarvis since his inception, making us miserable but not alone.✌😔

    • Starting to feel? You're new here? 😂😂😭

  • I know someone who participated back in 2005. He was approached randomly by a recruiter. He only did it cause his friends persuaded him. He said that the producers kept forcing him to say things he would never say and failed to try to make his job (data analyst) sound "sexy" haha

    • Omg, you have a job and making above a livable wage for two. SOO HOT!

    • @Captain of the Loser Cruiser trying to come up with related pickup lines and all I can come up with are: "ooh baby let me analyse _your_ data" "you may be an outlier, but you sure count to me" "Call me N/R/Q+, because I'm all natural/i keep it real/i'm _positive_ that we're a match for each other" "based on previous (dat)as(e)t(s), the probability of us falling in love is 100%" idk a lot about data analysis these are kinda just maths puns

    • @sofastuffing i would be down for that…

    • sexy data analyst...

  • after years of jarvis enjoying his mother’s milky goodness, he’s finally passing it onto us. thank you mother jarvis

    • This made me so uncomfortable, but have a like anyway.

    • i knew someone would reference the breast milk video

    • Cursed comment

    • how do I delete someone else’s comment but also pin it on someone else’s video so other people have to suffer through it at the same time

    • @Dali-Dog i hated typing it

  • I'm pretty sure Next was the literal first time I saw gay people on TV. It was incredible to me that being not straight was 'normal' enough to be a dating show, felt like a personal win.

    • @copiedcells lol exactly! All the lesbians were super sexualized too, that was a bummer

    • I thought I was the only one with this experience 😭 looking back now, I get why representation is important but good representation would be nicer 🤣

  • How do people say don't shows sexual content to kids, and having any non-straight aspect to a show is super sexual, while also allowing this show to air TO KIDS?

    • @Ravenclaw_Charm that makes sense

    • @Dustin Malpass unless you were a parent that wasn’t paying attention kids would watch anything. But back then social media really wasn’t like it was today making it hard for teens to see content like this. Mostly people over 12 watched that channel

    • Was this showed to kids???

  • I love Jarvis saying “who is this show for?” after admitting he watched it as a kid. It was for you, Jarvis! The call is coming from inside the house!

    • Bullying Wilkens 😭☠️

    • @Kristopher Gould Bullying Jarvis or bullying Nelson Wilkins?

    • Love me another jarvis bully comment section

    • @mams if you listen closely periodically someone whispers "jarvis" further proving your point

    • @Nelson Wilkins bro you need help lol

  • Even the whole making Anirudha propose on what is meant to be his "first date" was a racist scripting choice. Yikes

    • @skegbird it's a common stereotype (especially back then) that south asian men are quick to propose and rope women into marriage. It's built off the back of the stigma behind arranged marriages.

    • wait how is it racist

  • Can we all just take a minute to appreciate all the Jarvis does for us. We can trust him to always give us the thuth.

  • I find myself singing "I trusted you, and now your words mean NOTHING to me because your actions spoke the THUTH" far, FAR TOO OFTEN. Thanks for getting it stuck in my head again, Jarvis! 🤣

    • A BOP!

    • These are my people here

    • @nic p “Bad Relationship Memes for Heartbroken Teens”

    • what video is it from!!!!

    • honestly same

  • She probably lost all her energy once she literally got flashed with that guy's junk. I pray that was staged.

  • It's honestly wild that people were acting like this before it could get you to go viral on social media

  • Chris and Charity meeting each other feels like something straight out of The Sims.

  • "I feel like 17 is too young to be exposed to this show in any capacity" Me, 17, being exposed to this show in some capacity:

  • A thing to remember about the 'Keannu' remark is that there was quite a period of time where he was seen as a total joke of an actor/person. None of it was ever justified, but when this show was out, his reputation was nowhere near what it is today. While people loved the Matrix (first one anyway), that still wasn't enough to undo that stigma.

  • "Being one ethnicity is so last century" Picks the first blonde girl 😂

  • you can't tell me adam wasn't making an acting choice with the way he hesitated before he said "i'd like to at least match that" - the script gave him a joke and he delivered

  • The best part about being aroace is that I will never make the mistake of participating in one of these shows

    • @トマシュー Wait ok, this dating show has only walking red flags as participants, so the aroace version has to be the same but friendship version. They're all like "I borrow 600 dollars from you and don't pay it back" or "I'll cancel plans last minute to hang out with my SO instead" and you have to pick one to be friends with and then fight the rest as a team. It's called Frenemies

    • @Evelyn Jenkins or trying to make the most amount of enemies in like. a day

    • but money

    • They should make an over-the-top show like this but with finding friends

    • I dunno, I think the best part is the garlic bread.

  • Those men getting nexted was a blessing in disguise, imaging dating someone with their lack of patience and failure to handle rejection in a healthy way 😭😭

  • "I trusted you, but now your words mean nothing to me because your actions spoke the thuth" lives in my head rent free til this day

    • i think of it all day every day, or at least once a week lol

    • @holly my brain is saying it’s the one where he went over the teen relationship angst accounts on instagram and he made some into little songs

    • What's the video? I remember it vaguely but I can't put my finger on it!

    • Same

  • NEXT: Another demonstration of misogyny and sexual harassment 🤦🏼‍♀️ “Nice Guys” are the bane of my existence

    • I believe every episode had 1 male and 1 female with "Next" power, and the girls took shots at the guys, too. Also, I really don't think the "Next" guys were supposed to be "Nice guys". The show was over-the-top back then, too.

  • for some reason, after Jarvis said "this video is over now" my brain was fully primed for Danny's song to start playing 🤔🤷 Anyway, great video Jarvis!

    • This video is over now (over now), you'll find something else to watch (or just watch this video again) I know we had a lot of fun (a lot of fun), but you can't stay on this end screen forever (no) 🎶

  • Can we just take a moment to appreciate Jarvis and his milky goodness.

  • Low rise jeans were the pain of my existence as a child. My mother & grandmother only bought me low rise jeans & constantly told me to pull up my pants 🤦‍♀️

    • @halcyon ! ♡ ° omg yes!😂 I completely agree.

    • like mine would get upset my stomach was showing after buying me a crop top

    • i feel like none of our parents understood what exactly “low rise” meant considering mine did the same

  • can we all appreciate how much effort Jarvis puts into his videos, this made me laugh a lot, and has been grate for my mental health. I am going through a depressive episode, so even the smallest amount of happiness is a gift. I am so glad that Jarvis uploaded today :)

  • I can’t believe this show actually existed and wasn’t just a collective fever dream

  • Your honest reactions to 2008 media is so relatable! Just every single thing that happens is awful by 2022 standards.

  • Imagine being an innocent teenager and then you find this video and one of those people in this show is your parent. First question I would ask was "so you were definitely paid in drugs and alcohol right?"

  • "So this time... I'd like to at least match that" had me in TEARS 😭😂 believe in yourself Adam, come on

  • Dude, that Lightning McQueen honk was so funny. You're always so enjoyable to watch Jarvis. Thank you for being you.

  • crazy how SA and harassment was so common and accepted back then. we've come a long way already, still a lot to go but we're on the right path

  • I thank the heavens that most common folk have moved on from the tactics of 2000s dating shows. Dating people is scary enough without the absolutely unhinged energy these people have. They give off "all my exes say im crazy lmao" vibes and I'm terrified.

  • You and your videos are such a gift. Thank you for putting your time and effort into improving the lives of countless others.

  • I've been wondering why people glamorize the 2000's. It was a terrible time full of terrible people. Finally, others are starting to see it.

    • There are terrible things in every era. There are great things too.

    • I think thats most eras are tho. Loads of people glamourise the 50 60s when that era was full of segregation and misogyny. But we all filter the bits we dont like and embrace the things we do. I dont think its a crime to want to revel in the aesthetics and or nostalgia. We should just apply the things we have learnt as a society and enjoy these things with a new perspective

  • You keep saying it's free Jarvis, but now I'm scared. what am I paying Johnson? _what am I exchanging for this quality content?!?_

  • If Jarvis ever watched "Room Raiders" I would love to see him review that, because the entire premise of that show was MTV took four single people, stuck three of them on a bus, then told the fourth person to literally rifle through the three others personal items and judge them based on what they found in their rooms. Like, they gave the raider a briefcase with gloves, tweezers, a blacklight and other "spy" items 👀

  • NEXT was absolutely insane, I remember they had a gay season of the show, and it was wild. Edit: I also remember a show that was called “Gay, straight or taken.” honesty, MTV comes up with the most absurd premises and makes them into dating shows

  • I think my brain blocked out how crazy this show was 😂😂 and it was definitely intended for teens/kids to watch after school 🙈

  • I remember watching this and at 14 being way too invested, and having my feelings hurt when a normal person didn’t make it. I’m so glad I got older and understand how unrealistic it is.

  • I CANNOT EVEN EXPLAIN TO YOU HOW MUCH I LOVED THIS SHOW. An embarrassing amount, really. So happy to see you covering this lolol

  • charity is def a wine aunt, like “my three best friends are wine, glass, and downtown abbey!”

    • Said "daahntan"

    • @AstroBlast I would 100% watch that.

    • Its ok it took me a while to realize it was "downton". Downtown Alley is the American version and is solely abt line cooks and the goings-on during smoke breaks.

    • @Peter Hoppenrath omfg

    • @Yami Yugi the sequels called “downtown alley”

  • “I’m Anirudha, I’m 23, and I’m bringing sexy back.” (Turns away from the camera like the Blair witch)

  • I watched way more hours of MTV dating shows in the early 2000s than I'm ever ready to admit.

  • Jarvis, "This video is over now." Me with my semi-permanent cringe/disbelief face: "Oh thank god!" That show as a train wreck.

    • THIS VIDEO IS OVER NOW (over now) GO FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO WATCH (or just watch this video again

  • “Her perfectly geometrically round face sucks”

  • NEXT was absolutely insane, I remember they had a gay season of the show, and it was wild. Edit: I also remember a show that was called “Gay, straight or taken.” honesty, MTV comes up with the most absurd premises and makes them into dating shows

    • @J J I watched so much Room Raider in middle school

    • @Pop Circus God, some moments from that that stick out in my mind are some of the moms sort of thirsting over the dudes that they set their daughter up with.

    • the guy that got rejected bc of his handshake in the gay ep. i wonder how he;s doing now

    • Wait, the „Gay, Straight or taken“-idea came from MTV? A German channel aires a show with the same… „concept“ like… right now. It’s still a thing here…

    • @J J the Kurtis Connor vid proved that The group of dudes they’d have almost always went right for the girls bras

  • Shout out to Tremaine who looked unbelievably uncomfortable saying, "Tiki her masala!"

  • I’m so used to seeing Jarvis calm that seeing him yell is kinda scary

  • This show and Date My Mom were shows I watched it too young and really gave me solid and realistic idea of the adult dating scene

  • I'm having a terrible day and the sudden flash of lightning McQueen as a horn goes off outside jarvis's home restored my will to live

  • thanks for cutting the "hell" out of the "hello" in your intro. really appreciate you keeping youtube child friendly

  • I defiantly hope we see more of this, especially if you drag Jarvis into this, this shit sounds like pure chaos 🤣🤣🤣

  • My face hurts from laughing so much!! God bless you, Jarvis and your milky goodness

  • I watched this as a child and while I don’t remember this episode or these people, I do remember thinking the people in this show were always so cool! Also, what in the world does seeing how someone pretend falls have to do with dating them?

  • Can we take a moment to really appreciate this GOLD content from Jarvis? I for one can't wait until his NEXT upload

  • your videos always make me so happy, i’m sitting here grinning like an idiot and it’s amazing

  • I cannot stop laughing at “and I’d at least like to match that” omg 😂😭

  • What would prevent you from taking the money and then just dating anyway? Honestly, saying no to the money just doesn't make any sense.

  • I always feel so special in the Gold videos intro, thanks Jarvis. You’re premium too.

    • Riiight? It makes me forget I am not supporting Jarvis monetarily at all. 🤣

    • Bling

    • makes me feel so premium

    • Honestly the way he does the intro makes me smile every time and I hope it will be that way forever. And ever... and ever... and. ever. :)

    • me too :)

  • Hope's face at 11:01 genuinely breaks my heart. She looks so uncomfortable.

  • Ah yes, the early 2000's MTV shows. This show, Parental Control, Room Raiders, and others like them lived in my head rent-free back when I was in high school. Now I will ask you about your thoughts on A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila. That show was messy as fuck.

  • omg king - this was HYSTERICAL. your commentary had me in tears, especially the rap tap routine. i used to watch this show growing up and is absolutely wild that THIS show was “normal”

  • watching 2000s, early 2010s' reality tv while growing up surely hasn't impacted me mentally

  • Crazy to think all these people are probably parents now 😳

  • 3 minutes in and I'm already crying, thank you Jarvis for the gold ⭐🏅

  • I guess this isn't the first time MTV fetishized their contestants... Or the last. 😅

  • Can we all just appreciate how much effort Jarvis puts into his videos?

  • Okay reboot this but instead of potential dates it’s employers and they have to prove that they’re worth working for

    • You could watch 'The Apprentice'. It was a show with someone called Donald Trump.

    • Taking back power, all for it

    • That sounds so fucking depressing, make them fight for health insurance too

    • Somebody greenlight this

    • That sounds terrible i would watch it

  • I have so many vivid memories of watching NEXT with my sister when I was like 8-12 lmao this show was so insane

  • I don’t understand the point of this show like WHY would you have a dating show where you might not even get to meet all of the contestants?? like isn’t the point of these things to see all your choices *then* pick?? I’d be so pissed if I didn’t even get to get off the bus lmao

  • "I trusted you. And now your words mean nothing. To me, because your actions spoke the thuth" I can hear it in Jarviss amazing singing voice

  • Omg I do not remember that much constant yelling either. This show was ONLY for hopped up teenagers

  • deciding whether or not to date someone purely based off of how well they can fall down stairs should be a show all on its own

  • 0:12 i hope Jarvis never stops this intro, like he literally does it again every time. Its pretty cool.

    • I really liked the one where they dated the parents. Very cringe in a fabulous way

  • i was honestly rooting for adam because he just seemed like he was happy to be there, but wow. this show is a trip.

  • "Don't make him say that!" Good gawd did that reaction kill me.

  • Thanks for the great video this really inspired me to keep working hard and believe in what I create. Whoever's reading this I hope your goals also work out. - Tom's Audio Show

  • Clearly it’s not as good as we remember, but as for who these shows are for: Middle school kids who have no idea what dating looks like 😂 I used to spend summers watching Next, Parental Control, Date My Mom, and Room Raiders and NONE of it was anywhere close to reality 💀

  • I don’t think you understand how amazing it is that you put this out today because I actually did happen to fall down my sister’s stairs a couple of hours after you posted, coincident? P.S. i actually did fall down the stairs and I am fine I just bruised my hip bone and my elbow but otherwise I’m fine hahahaha

  • Imagining Chris as Arin from Game Grumps makes this 1000x funnier

  • I have absolutely zero words for this show. I was laughing so hard but I was also horrified

  • I thank the heavens that most common folk have moved on from the tactics of 2000s dating shows. Dating people is scary enough without the absolutely unhinged energy these people have. They give off "all my exes say im crazy lmao" vibes and I'm terrified.

  • I've had that "I've trusted you" line stuck in my head since I first watched that video.

  • how dare they say acting like you have adhd for clout is a new gen Z thing when this show exists

    • @melvin storbes omg yes, I struggle with that so mich these days, it's like it comes in periods/waves

    • @Napaartoq Ostermann-Hansen same and the inability to not talk over someone 80 times

    • @Pegs I've never seen that comparison but it absolutely is

    • @illessi I genuinely can't believe I was a rawr xd, llamas, and other bs kid. It's horrifying, I feel like I'm living someone else's memories. Truly bonkers. But also I was 5 in 2007 so it's crazy that rawr xd lasted until at least 2015 holy hell. Is rawr xd the same as unironic uwu for gen alpha?

    • Yeah... I thought I used to pretend to have ocd and adhd but turns out I hid all my real symptoms, pretended to have mainstream ones and guilted myself into thinking i didn't have a problem lol, but tbh the most amazing feeling for me is getting a diagnosis, and hearing the behavior, and immediately relating. It feels like being the only fan of a band and then finally meeting someone who's also heard of them

  • Oddly enough I learned about this show not too long ago when I was looking up if there were any gay dating shows. Apparently they did a few episodes and I can confirm the one episode I saw was just as painful but awkwardly funny as this one.

  • Girl says she's not interested. Guy exposes himself, screams and hits on the closest girl he can find. 😬

  • jarvis going "GOOOOOOLD!!!" in the background of the intro will always bring joy to my heart
