Scorpions, Death Feigning Beetles, Mexican Jumping Beans, and so much more! Over the past 100 days, I documented my little chunk of the desert. Watch as it transforms from a barren wasteland into a thriving ecosystem!

  • The beetle and the scorpion interacting at 4:20 was oddly wholesome "Hmmm, what's in here, (nudges scorpion)" "Uhm- excuse me (nudges back)" "Ah, apologies, have a lovely day."

    • it was more like: beetle: shi whats in here? scorpion: yo this my shi bru beetle: shi my bad bro

    • (fun fact) The reason the scorpion didn't attack was because it wasn't hungry, and a scorpion wasting it's venom can be extremely dangerous for it

    • @Vishy Shanbro got that off the tiktok post ☠️☠️

    • That was a good fight who won

    • @William Loveno one, it wasn’t even a fight

  • You know what would be super cool? A live video where you have cameras all across the whole tank and the stream switches to where ever there is most movement. I think that would be cool

    • like hunger games

    • @parker qi😅💀💀💀

    • @An De Good idea

    • that might just be hard for the youtuber. Having cameras run for 100 days can be very hard to do.

    • @heemy Truuuuuu good point

  • This video deserves an Oscars award. Amazing build but the video editing and story telling takes it to the next level.

    • imagine if he added more animals and threw the length to 30+ mins, i would watch it all lmao

    • @rizbosamee as it is so entertaining to watch

    • This is basically how they do the best shots of small animals in Planet Earth. They create small scapes, which allow for a controlled environment & tight camera angles for filming.

  • Bro i love how this man is like, "I have to be very careful" and then proceeds to just pick it up

    • Lol

    • Memes

    • I was going to comment the same 😂😭 I expected him to wear gloves or something.. but my guy is just brave enough to totally believe in his skills of handling creatures.

  • So if you wanted to do a lizard and scorpion set up, I’d recommend looking into spiny tailed lizards and flat tailed scorpions. They share burrows in the wild under a symbiotic relationship, the scorpion protects the lizard from larger predators while the lizard eats ants that would normally be a problem for the scorpion.

    • I’ve never heard of that! I will have to look into it, thank you!

    • @Dr. Plants I hope you can do something involving maybe I swamp/ mangrove ecosystem

    • @Dr. Plantscan you make a part 2 plsssss

    • @Dr. Plants Dude, you gotta set up a 24/7 livestream of this terrarium that goes on constantly. I would watch that every day man

    • Great idea

  • The “almost as terrifying as my mother in law” caught me so off guard compared to all the more serious stuff you put in. Please add more drops of humor in your videos every now and then 🤣

    • Speaking of drops "You see that white spot thats venom" *Causally picks him up*

  • The transition from "See that little drop of liquid, that is a potent venom and I need to be extremely careful." "So I picked him up and started putting him in the tank." Is just so funny to me

    • The intense music is what made it funny-

    • So good

    • Me to

    • @mole rat q

    • When he mentioned the scorpion resembles his mother in law 🤣

  • These ecosystem videos are so cool! Can’t wait to see them on a bigger scale.

    • I think this how BBC earth makes their videos now

    • Yeah man when will he make a whole rainforest

    • There's this cool new ecosystem that was just make called Earth you should check it out!

    • “As you can see, the wolves were TAKING OVER. So I introduced a new predator, the BROWN BEAR.” 💀💀💀

    • @mehgalon”As you can see, the brown bears were TAKING OVER. So I introduced a new predator, the WHITE RHINO.”

  • The fact that those water creatures only purpose is to not go extinct and lay their eggs in hope that they will get hatched and do same as their ancestors without any knowledge they never knew who their parents were is literally astounding

  • Found this on TikTok. They didn't credit you but it was just clear this video was too good to be made by the account I found it on. Glad to find you here 👍🏻

    • Same

  • This ecosystem is definitely my favorite, especially the rose of jericho. I didnt know that theres a plant that can be alive when theres an abundance of water, then go to a dormant state when theres no water. Hopefully you'll give us an update video of this tank!

    • I never knew there was a plant called that. I just knew the name Jericho from the famous Bible story (maybe they have a connection in the name like Jacob sheep do).

  • i have no idea how one beetle approached the scorpion and then left knowing that the scorpion is attacking. what a sentient organism.

  • I love the fact that you simulate weather and daylight in your builds! It adds a lot to the atmosphere of the environment.

  • I'd love to see an ocean, tundra, forest, taiga, river, rainforest, jungle, and coral reef biomes

    • bro took minecraft biomes and ripped it apart and put it as a comment

  • “The scorpion gave a gentle push” That’s so damn funny to me

    • It's a very polite scorpion.

    • @mcstabba yes he is such a gentle man.

  • This guy is a genius for making this channel. It's so cool and he's very educated on ecosystems of animals. Great job!

  • The bit where he said “a predator almost as scary as my mother in law” just got me 😂

  • I no longer watch movies, this channel beats everything, literally

  • Dude, you gotta set up a 24/7 livestream of this terrarium that goes on constantly. I would watch that every day man

    • That's genius! Would definitely be checking in daily to see if anything was going on!

    • *donate 10$ and make it rain*

    • @LD And the rain fell upon the earth for forty days and forty nights. 😆

    • that would be so cool

    • Simple but genius idea

  • The fact that he said “ I have to be extremely careful “ in like a deep and scared voice and the said “ I picked him up and gave him a lil love tap” is extremely funny to me😂😂

  • This deserves a part 2, it's just too good

  • All these ecosystem videos are so interesting! The different ideas you get for some of those, how you solve problems within the evolution of the tank... I find it super aspiring! The fac that you even change themes, like, this time, you made a dessert, so original! These videos make me realize i cry when i find something exciting...

  • Dude this footage/editing looks so professional. Props

  • I like how he just said he had to be careful with the scorpion but 2 seconds later he picks it up

  • This video was freaking EPIC!!

  • Could you try doing a mountain/rocky ecosystem? I think it would be super interesting!

  • This experiment could go on for much longer and I would still watch the video. It's kinda addicting to watch. You have done an amazing job here.

  • This is so amazing! So captivating! Please let us see more of this! How's the ecosystem doing!?

  • The Amount Of Effort This Guy Puts In Is Worth A. Oscar

  • This was more entertaining and insightful than most reality shows

    • im sacred

    • I mean, tbf reality shows are meant to be just entertainment, with questionable quality depending on what you're watching. But I'd say this is more engaging and informative than a lot of documentaries

    • He's right

    • fr

    • I’d remove ‘most’ and replace with every single

  • I NEED A PART 2 !!!! That's so amazing ! I can't wait to see the next shrimp generation !

  • “Something almost as terrifying as my mother in law” was my favourite quote from this guy😍

  • I have no idea how he's holding these creatures but he is amazing

  • I would really like to see a behind the scenes video. I wonder if he constantly keeps the cycle up and how he emulates storms and drought

  • This man needs a TV show.

  • 4:49 this part was actually so cute!! I love how the scorpion is like “hey dude, this is my house could you please leave?” And the beetle is just like “sure, my bad”

    • How did he get that shot?

    • I know it's so adorable that they're not just "kill kill kill"

    • @Mr Duck why do you think they made terrariums transparent?

    • @Lewd Jiggle even if transparent.... Shouldn't we get a different view... Because the camera is literally showing us through sideways when the home of that scorpion 🦂 was in somewhat middle and not in any one extreme side to capture such shot.

    • @Shubham exactly

  • This is hilarious. But I want a Part 2 SO BAD PLEASE MAKE ANOTHER ONE

  • I seriously love all these videos, and I get so excited whenever a new one pops up in my feed. I love how even weather is included, and the footage captured is so cool!

  • a lot of respect to the guy that collected all this animals

  • More 100 days filmssssss I'm literally rewatching the two i can't get enough im craving more 🥺 would love to also see the behind the scenes 🧡

  • Lol, I love how the scorpion didn’t even make the effort to attack the beetle, but instead just politely asked for it to leave. 😂

  • I love your videos and how much time you put into it! Earned a new sub.

  • I like how you make this look so extremely dramatic but it's actually just a bug and a scorpion pushing each other in a hole.

  • I love your eco System Videos! Please make more of them.

  • The scene when the triop hit the fairy shrimp with it's tail got me 💀

  • I don't normally comment twice. But this was legitimately the best thing I have ever watched in 2023. Please do more ecosystems when you find the time. I loved the dune scorpion's ultraviolet light and the blue beetles. I love how you weren't afraid to truly simulate life in the desert. And the Jericho plant expansion was the coolest event because that was just straight beautiful! Keep it up, the bell is on!

    • Thank you!

    • Fr we have high expectations from you 🙃

    • @Dr. Plants I was thinking of doing this but you beat me to it nice vid

    • We're only a month in, how low are your expectations for 2023

    • @Dr. Plants You should make a video simulating evolution, making difficult but survivable situations for animals, and watch them evolve to survive them better

  • This is such a cool channel. Thank you for making this type of content in a World of knowledge Need. Very impressive work.

  • I am amazed! I enjoyed your videos, it give me an insight into how life function in their environment!

  • I swear you're amazing! It has been my dream to stimulate a big ecosystem, this just give me more kicks. Your knowledge is super!

  • Esta genial, sería padre que también hicieras un video de como lo hiciste

  • This is unbelievably awesome! I love your content. Yup I'm subscribing

  • No way you actually simulated rain and the plant’s reaction to it, you are amazing

    • You can buy those plants at craft stores sometimes they are pretty popular.

  • Oh my God this was beautiful man keep up the hard work❤

  • Im actually learning stuff here. Like the rose of Jericho and mexican jumping beans. Hope you keep makin this stuff

  • we need another update on this, such a great build

  • This shows that even the most well-understood systems can be unpredictable.

  • How do I start off with building something like this. This is incredible… I know it’s a matter of replicating an environment, but that’s easier said than done. Did you start off with something small and work your way up? I’d love to see that overall progression

  • this is literally like natgeo levels of quality. I feel like im watching a nature documentary. PLEASE NEVER STOP ITS SOOOO GOOD

  • Ok, I'm in love with your videos!!!! So nice to see all this life like that

  • The way he was introducing the Bearded Dragon was epic🔥

  • This is so charming and cinematic. I'd never seen the blue death feigning beetle, it's so cute 🪲

  • I absolutely love these keep up the good work!

  • Awesome! Can’t wait for days 101-200

  • I love how the drying up and rain cycle works, not only is it pure genius and amazing, it’s also pretty close to how some of these creatures would actually live in the wild, I find it astounding how you put so much effort into simulating a desert environment.

    • There will definitely be a Karen or 2 angry about having some species die, but it’s literally how it would go in nature.😂

  • I dont want to skip a single ad for the owner, He deserve it anyways for this wonderful video. ❤

  • I was very happy to see the bearded dragon was a red herring! Thank you for practicing responsible husbandry :)

  • Its amazing how nature works without human interference. Absolutely love the content. Please do more eco system videos🙏😁🙂

  • Why is this so epic? No complaints very cool 😎

  • A life art. This is amazing. This is what we need to watch in this days.

  • Am I the only one who really wants a 24/7 livestream of this, I think it would be so cool!

    • no i want that too.

    • No there’s the top comment you read

    • I think that just started getting a ton of likes because I scrolled through a ton of comment before I posted this and didn't see that one but idk

    • That sounds so cool

    • Yeah maybe with music in background too that would be cool like a study stream

  • I would love to have my own little ecosystem! I play on making one in the future

  • First time watching you and the simulated weather are taking me out! 😂 10/10

  • Great content, the 1% of ID-tv creators that isn't trends, beef, stupidity, ect!! Great story telling too, and imo the only thing missing is a deeper break down of the creatures you put in your tank, but I guess that's for my own curiosity as I believe it would probably destroy the flow of your videos, Ty

  • este es mi ecosistema favorita de esta canal, espero can ansias a una continuacion

  • I love these type of videos and I encourage you to make more like this

  • My 5th-grade classes LOVED watching these videos when we were studying Ecosystems. Thank you for your hard work on your videos. Even though we are done with our class work on ecosystems my students still ask for Dr. Plant video's. Thanks again!

    • Thank you for being a teacher 😊

    • Thank you for being alive 😊

    • Thank you for all you do for the children ma’am I hope you have an amazing day :)

    • Thank you for letting the children learn in different way, back in my school the teachers were just dictating the topic once and thrn let it go ahead

  • YOUR VIDEOS ARE MINDBLOWING YOU KNOW WHAT I AM WAITING FOR YOUR VIDEOS AND IT GIVES SO MUCH EXCITMENT WHEN UPLOAD BUT THE GOOD PART IS YOUR VIDEOS GIVE WONDERFUL WATCHING EXPERIENCE AND CALMNESS TO MY MIND WITH THE KBOWLEDGE OF NATURE AND HOW OUR EARTH WORK THANKSS FOR THAT TYPE OF VIDOES LOVE FROM INDIA

  • This was so well done!!!

  • Insane!! So awesome.. can't tell more .I think this is the best content I've seen in YT..

  • This is amazing and j love it! I've got so many questions tho: how did you simulare the thunderstorm and daylight progression? Also I love the interaction between the scorpion and the beetle! Hope there's gonna be a part 2!

  • The scorpion not stinging him and just pushing the blue beetle away reminded me of two brothers when the younger one comes in your room lol I love your content I’m gonna watch all your videos and probably not sleep for a few days

  • I won't lie fully panicked when I thought you were serious about the bearded dragon! I own one and the tank being too small is only the tip of the iceberg on how unsuitable and dangerous a home like this would have been. That aside, absolutely gorgeous set up for these little critters!!! I love the ecosystem videos because it's something that takes a lot of patience and knowledge to get balanced but is so beautiful and worth it when you are able to achieve it!!

    • Same, I got scared for a moment 😭glad he was kidding, but still a beautiful set up

  • Scorpion just gives a gentle “get out of my house” and the beetle up and leaves

  • This is amazing 4:35 the way they communicated.

  • Awesome vídeo! Please give us longer ones!

  • watching this again for the 5th time because it's so fascinating. ❤

  • These videos are too fascinating and interesting. Thanks ID-tv for this recommendation

  • I remember finding you when you only had a single video, I immediately knew that this was something special. It's crazy to see how far you have come in such a short amount of time. I can't wait to see what you still have to offer.

    • Wow, thank you!

    • @Dr. Plants I don't know if you can, but at some point you could make a micro ecosystem similar to the video "mini ecosystems after 1 year", but with a "prehistoric" environment, that is, with very similar species to their prehistoric counterparts, such as those from the Carboniferous (an era of giant arthropods)

    • @Dr. Plants If I have to wait more than a year, I will wait to see an amazing result

  • Hi i love the tank that you built. Can you tell me all the materials you bought to built this terrarium?

  • This guy needs more support!!!!!!

  • i feel like live streams of these would make amazing content, like with diffrent camara angles and stuff

  • Omg this is the largest masterpiece of every time I mean it’s just the best ecosystem I just can’t believe how much time and work you did.

  • I love how in some of your videos you just go ahead and say it’s dangerous or poisonous/venomous and then just have the next shot be you holding it Lol. Keep up your amazing work man!❤

  • I love this so much you are the best ID-tvr. You could make a ocean reef ecosystem just a idea it would be cool though 😁

  • Dude, first off I’d like to say thank you for pushing a quality product… but for real how many of these do you have? You literally are pulling months of work out of nowhere… like the dedication is unreal and I think I speak for everyone when I say we are very impressed…

    • Thank you! A lot of work goes on behind the scenes!

    • @Dr. Plants all your work, even the behind the scenes work is appreciated 👍

    • @Dr. Plants would love to see the behind the scenes and how all of this is made

    • @Yusha Rashid Me too! Definitely worth watching!

  • This man deserves all the subs.

  • Him: “I have to be super careful” Also him: *casually holding scorpion*

  • I love your content 😍 this is 🍇 keep it up!

  • This is so addictive to watch…the quality is ultra clear and genius setup..I can get used to watching these..

  • What a work man! It was wonderful 🎉
