It seems like this movie has really captured the essence of what it’s like to be a little kid being terrified of what could be lurking in the darkness, and I’m digging it!
@Shootout_23 amen brother
@Samouha Bedira you said the same thing 54 times, I think we get it. Calm down
@Ghost who knows. Have any John Wick moves up your sleeve mr.boogeyman?
could it be ME
Yea monsters u never see in nightmares were the worst as a kid
When I was a kid, nothing was scarier than The Boogeyman. Then I grew up, And I learned about...John Wick.
wow
@Samouha Bedira do u love it?
phallic comment
love it
“Monsters are real, they live inside us and sometimes they win.” -Stephen King.
It's apparent that the monsters have already defeated Stephen. "Poor Mr King...so lonely...so hungry" (Dracula, 1990).
Will Smith: "I know that's right!"
love it❤
love it❤
love it❤
I remember the old boogeyman movies from 20 or so years ago and it still gives me chills
Isn’t this the exact same movie tho
I’m only 23 but wen I was 12 I came across them on syfy if were talking about the same ones .. of course they weren’t NEW to the public but I believe so cuz it’s 3 of them and yea definitely sent chills down my spine
@Theblacksaiyan 1992 I was 9
That movie was pg13😂
This ain't no remake of the boogie man
Finally, a John Wick origin movie.
John Wick kills Boogeyman… in all multiple universe
love it💝
love it💝

The fact that a little kid being terrified of what could be lurking in the darkness makes it very hard to be alone without someone to comfort your fears! This movie looks very cool! I'm super excited to see this movie in every way!
I’m seeing how more and more of Stephen kings short stories are being adapted and personally i dig it
@Paul Pietschinski I hope they keep the weirdness and craziness from the book into the movie.
@D T Day Yeah i just watched it. Well those creepshow and TftC stuff was never high quality but i still liked it (my favorite short)
@PrometheusVhat was in Creepshow 2. It wasn’t very good.
They need to make his book Tommyknockers into a movie....I know it was a shitty made for tv movie in the 80's....that doesnt count
Hopefully we can get "I Am the Doorway" someday.
This looks so good! It has the bit of childhood nostalgia of having the fear of monsters. I can't wait to see it!
its literally just Monsters Inc live action
@Bestevaar what if they don't show the monster in the actual movie? What if they hide it the whole time? Show the face 1 sec then gone. Hollywood always do this.
@Fyn Kozari You can’t tell if a movie is bad by just watching 2 minutes of footage
@Wolfmyth100 it took me a long time to get over this lol
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
This movie looks really good and the cast is 10/10
@upfuze Hollywood execs with multiple accounts 🤣🤣🤣
@hawk 7886 100% my point; Obviously. Interest in the movie is determined by if the trailer does well or not. No one is debating that. Catch up slow bus
@upfuze trailers are supposed to do nothing other than pique interest. it's literally not possible to determine a movie's quality by watching a two minute clip montage backed by cheesy music
@andrew carson on god
@Fyn Kozari Lol a response isn’t a string of questions. Try responding to my singular question before vomiting up all that incoherent nonsense
Stephen King's short stories were always the scariest. I remember having his short story books when I was a kid. The scariest by far in my opinion was always, "The Boogeyman" in the book, Night Shift. I read that story aloud once when we were all at my friends house as a child. It was so scary my friend started crying uncontrollably! In 2005 they came out with "Boogeyman" 2005 film. I went to see it in the theaters just based on the title alone hoping it was Stephen Kings The Boogeyman. I was disappointed when it wasn't. I have been waiting my whole life for it to be made into a full length film, and I just learned now it is coming out this summer!!! My God, please let them do this short story justice! I been waiting my whole life for this!
Robert Smith From the looks of it, they will. Movie makers know that King can be pretty picky about how they adapt his stories.
...but that 2005 Version of The Boogeyman was scary as heck! One of the best out there in my opinion.
@Awwscrewit me too because that ending in the book was scary as hell!
I wonder if they kept the ending.
This is gonna be one of the most relatable horror movies ever seen. Also love that Sophie Thatcher from Yellowjackets and Book of Boba Fett is in it
right
@HabitualJoker can never hate on Sophie for doing the best she could with that character. Plus she was the best mod so
@Adrian Stjarnfaldt true
She played one of the worst characters in The Book of Boba Fett, so that’s not saying too much.
@CSS-Tails_Forever u can allways hope buddy
I have faith in this movie. The new horrors are actually getting better each time
I am glad there is still Stephen King movies coming out.
@D A Wtf are you even talking about, he never preaches religion! He just uses it mostly to coincide with the crazy people in his books. Just like in real life.
Dean Koontz and Robert McCammon. Let’s start there.
@Fyn Kozari Have you actually invested yourself in the genre or do you only watch the mainstream “jump scary” ones, which Hollywood has been shoving down our faces? Horror is one of the most unique and creative genres out there.
@CreekWood Productions Yess. I always wanted a Dean Koontz adaptation. He’s a fantastic writer
I read that short story 40 years ago and I STILL think about it. Terrifying stuff. Tricky one to turn into a movie as it's pretty short, but interested in the effort.
@Mike Honcho Night Shift. There's also a short film "Dollar Baby" adaptation from 1982 that's here on ID-tv if you search, "Stephen King Boogeyman".
Didn't they already make movies with Kristen Stewart
@Mike Honcho it's part of one his anthologies. Either Night Shift or Skeleton Crew, it's been a while so I can't remember which one.
Where could I find this story?
Agreed. I remember reading this story in high school in the 90s, and when I got to the end, I actually felt dread in the pit of my stomach! I just hope the movie can measure up. That two part IT remake really wasted its R rating.
This movie indeed captures how a child sees the darkness and what's there that others can't I'm indeed impressed
“…Don't blame it on the sunshine Don't blame it on the moonlight Don't blame it on the good times Blame it on the boogey…” ❤
I (mistakenly) read this short story when I was 12 years old. It messed with me sooooo badly! The trailer looks VERY different from the story, but I am really excited to see it and how it has (hopefully) been elevated to a full screen adaptation.
It looks like what we get with the short story since we see Lester and more after. As if Stephen king continued the boogeyman. I like the way they are doing that.
Dude, I was sitting in the theater the other day waiting for our movie to come on and just thinking to myself "I really wish a GOOD scary film were to come out. A film that knows how to be scary, that has something unnerving just out of sight/reach, something that knows how to play with our most primal fears." And then, like an answer to my prayers this trailer came on in the previews. Please be good
Oh man, the lighting in this looks incredible. The rolling orb light and fridge light shots were genius
Just saw Scream VI and, naturally, there were all horror trailers before the movie and this is the only one that made me cover my eyes because it absolutely brought back that feeling of being a child and the fear of things possibly lurking in the dark. I was watching through my fingers until she rolled the orb under the bed and I was like “NOPE!!!” And covered my eyes again. This is the only trailer i saw in theaters that I came back to ID-tv to find because it stood out.
I actually find the boogeyman as a good/terrifying way for kids to not wanna go wondering off from their parents for too long because of unknown threats (the boogeyman)that may appear
Quite literally what parents have been doing since the birth of human language.
@Golden Light interesting 🧐
Children and parents must need to learn Mirror Gazing. It is so scary. I was afraid of the dark for 8 months. So times I would Try to sleep without the dark but the night after I would feel a scary energy in my room. I could feel many times a bad energy when the moon was black, I didn't know the moon was black after I searth up how do moon was After I feeld something. Many more
Perfect trailer, not showing too much. That's a serious problem with movies nowadays; this looks great.
As an adult in my 30s, I would never understand why would anyone not believe their kid being scared of something. I have felt the same way when I was a kid.
This is such a great short story! So excited to see it made into a movie from the creators of Stranger Things.
@CeeWorld oh wrong one 😂
@janderson947 no the dad got killed in that movie from long ago in 2005 lol
@RadarTechnicianBob they did an adaptation back in 2005
if i recall the short story...it was one of the best endings he's done. the...utter fear and defeat of the dad. whooooooo - the trailer already gives me goosebumps
I loved the short story but I have a feeling this movie will loosely follow it, but for what it is it looks really really good.
Stephen King's stories are absolutely timeless. This looks good.
stephen king never disappoints
@Dan GC oh you know Shawshank Redemption( which was rated as the best movie of all time by almost every media outlet). His great movie adaptions are Misery, The Green Mile, The Shining, and Stand by Me. His good movies are Pet sememary, The Mist, The Secret Window, 1408, Carrie, Hearts in Atlants, Apt Pupil, Geralds game, It and Christine(probably more I forgot). He does have some stinker movies BUT they aren't "largely awful" as adaptations. I think he has done well.
🙄🍪 yeah right he did with this one
@D A the stand cough
Clearly you haven't read a lot of Stephen King. Half of his works are about God...
Except for Under the Dome.
Never seen a boogeyman when i was a kid, but this movie captures the same feel, vibes & fear back when i was a kid.
Seeing the teaser while watching football and immediately going on yt to see the full trailer. Really excited to see it
love it
love it

this movie is relatable to how scaring it was being a kid all alone in the dark and seeing things and when you report no one believes you
I always was scared of the boogeyman when I was little I’m so glad their making another one! this will be good 🥰
Just the trailer alone, you can tell King wrote it. This isn't some goofy looking "scary" movie. It looks truly terrifying. Can't wait!!!! Love anything from the master of horror.
The concept of the Boogeyman has been used countless times whether as a campfire story, bedtime story, horror tale, movie mentions, tv mentions, movies amd tv episodes and even in one of my favourite modern horror movie SINISTER where Baghoul and the Boogeyman refers to the same entity but with different backgrounds. I have high hopes that this movie will be great because it is being done with both Stephen King and the producers of Stranger things but with a banal idea like the Boogeyman I have my doubts.
Looks suspenseful, creepy, and promising. Here’s to hoping it delivers. 🤞
@Elliot Johnson True, but still. Best, and not just horror, movies out there at least are careful enough not to be so blatant that you snap out of the experience and now you're thinking about an idiotic detail instead of the scene. 🤷♂😁 Maybe I used the wrong word here, while I actually meant "believable". 😉 Lie to me nicely, make me believe it. 😁✌
@Emiliyan Yankov unrealistic? Eh? It's a horror movie... hardly what you watch for realism.
@Micah Roberts it's a trailer. Not the full film.
Jump scares, jump scares and more jump scares. That is all
It's incredibly unrealistic, but the lighting and sounds are awesome, so it will make for a great one timer. 😋👍
When I was a kid, like 4 until about 12 I had horrible vivid nightmares and sleepwalked and I remember walking around my house seeing horrible things, shadow people, and monsters almost every night. I love horror movies and I really wish they would make some scary af movies where you actually see the ghost’s & creatures a lot and they actually look real. This looks good tho I’ll for sure be seeing it.
“It’s the thing that comes for your kids when you’re not paying attention” Well parents rarely ever pay attention in horror movies so this boogeyman is gonna have an easy time.
In this social climate where iphones and tvs raise kids more than the actual parents, the boogeyman would thrive, lol
😂😂😂
This is the best horror trailer I’ve seen a WHILE didn’t show too much just enough. Coming from a person that loves horror films. This made me jump and I’m here for it 🎉
I hope this movie doesn't let me down, it's been a while since I watched a good horror movie
After just reading the short story here I am finding out a movie is being made. Love it when things happen naturally
Was expecting just another movie relying entirely on cheap jump scares but I was genuinely amazed by this
Solid trailer. Definitely looking forward to see the movie when it comes out.
This is a gnarly little short story ..... I read this back in high school can't wait to watch the movie. Stephen King's earlier work really was his best work in my opinion!
By any chance we have same car brand? 👌
Sophie Thatcher is a huge talent.. she was amazing in Prospect and Yellowjackets.. she was also in a short film Blink recently that had a Boogeyman vibe to it
FINALLY. I've been waiting for a Boogeyman movie!! I'm so excited.
@Grim Reaper I think they mean a DECENT Boogeyman movie
What? Theres like 5 of them already
I loved watching the 2005 one with Barry Watson when I was little was absolutely terrifying and this one looks promising
Finally a horror that give you the chills and that can't wait to see factor Stephen King never fails to amaze us
i cant believe its made just like in the game, so excited for it.
The film looks amazing. It’s giving me insidious vibes.
Finally!!! A movie that doesn’t give away the plot in 2 minutes
Cannot wait to watch it! Both this adaptation of the short story and the upcoming new version of "Salem's Lot" keep me with huge hype!
@Chiara Traber Probably. The previous adaptation (especially the 1979 version) had problems adapting the plot for a 3-hour movie. Anyway, let's hope this new adaptation doesn't disappoint.
I'm personally a bit unsure about Salem's Lot being adapted into a movie I think it would fair better as a series in capturing the feeling of it all
This was one of the first movies that scared me shitless as a child and made me love horrors as an adult. 😂😂😂
I actually liked scary stuff as a kid, I wouldve probably tried to have been friends with it believing it to be misunderstood 🤣
0:47 Something about this shot is telling me that this movie will end up being very interesting the way its executed, I'm actually looking forward to this movie's release
Trailer gave me the chills and 3 jump scares 🔥
0:50 that scene give me chills
You know it’s gonna be good if it’s from the great Stephen King.
Well, At least it wasn't done by the director that made the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot.... Would've probably caused a riot.
This looks really good - can't wait to see it.
The lighting moon lamp was cool, that little girl was cute and when the trailer doesn't show many things, it's probably gonna be a good movie indicator, looking forward to it.
I'm happy to see Rob Savage getting more work.
I'm in it for the cast alone 👏
Honestly the boogyman use to be my biggest fear as a kid it just show's how scared i was😳
I jumped when that closet door swung open. In my head I was like nope. 😂
Vivien’s got to be one brave girl to be in a scary movie like that!
Under the bed and the dark open closet brings back the scariest moments of my childhood. Lol.
👍👍👍Same
It looks alright. My favorite movie involving the lore of the Boogeyman is the 2005 Boogeyman with Barry Watson. Not sure how many other fans there are of this gem but excellent to me and underrated. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend.
SAMEEEE
Cinematography at 0:48 is just🔥🔥
The Boogeyman won’t let us sleep peacefully through the night. We need more trailers like this. They only show what’s necessary and nothing more.
Jesus died and rose again for your sins. Believe in him and you will be saved and go to heaven!
HOORAY A STEPHEN KING FILM ^^! They're either too over the top or done just right, regardless of reason, they're always a fun film to watch!!!
Great family friendly film for the whole family! Especially the kids!
My dad and my mom went to theaters to watch the original movie. My father said my mom got scared. It's nice to finally see the remake of it.
@Ithaquack they are talking about that one boogeyman movie
My guys living in an alternate dimension there ain’t no original Boogeyman
Original?
I like the part where the Boogeyman said "It's boogey'n time" and boogies all over the place.
This looks great. I am 60 and I still fear the bed monster.
So far this is looking to be a summer hit
From Haunted cars to scary clowns, now we got good old fashion monsters in the closet and he's "The Boogeyman".
That beginning started off like it was taken straight from monsters inc. but then escalated very quickly into darkness. 😮
Bringing back a whole new meaning to The Boogeyman
Showing my age but I was a teen when the one in 2005 came out so seeing a new boogeyman movie is going to be awesome
the camera flipping upside down with the girls movement was amazing
Imagine if Christopher Nolan did a horror movie 😂😂
If I watch this, I’m gonna be more of scared of being alone in the dark than I ever been. Like ima become a whole frog just to get to my room and bed.👁️👄👁️
The way she goes upside down holding herself up with her arms and with her full face fully vulnerable no ma'am I'd never have been that bold as a kid
YAAAAS SOPHIE THATCHER GETTING ROLES
A abordagem acerca dessa figura, parece que vai ser bem interessante nesse filme
I absolutely LOVED Host and I am super excited for this one! Rob Savage ftw
Hope they do the interview with the dad and the therapist ( for those who haven’t read the story you should Those who have know what I’m referring too)
I had an imaginary friend as a kid to make me feel confort from the dark as a kid.But mostly not to be scared that much for the true horrors that lives always inside bad people that want to make you suffer with their evil deeds! For those bad people good people with good intentions in society are their boogey men because they afraid and they feel unsecure in their light!
I love summer horror movies!! A great excuse to sit in the ac with snacks and be scared outta your mind!! Cant wait 4 this
Stephen King and producers of Stranger Things. Sounds promising.
Horror and Stephen King, count me in definitely my type of vibe
Finally for how many years i've waiting for, i was high school seen the first part.
That score is phenomenal
please let this be as good as I want it to be
This looks so good and the boogeyman looks AWESOME I can’t wait.
This looks awesome! Will definitely be seeing.
I’m trying to remember if I’d have screamed and I am 90% certain that the closet door banging open like that would have turned me into a banshee.
Looks good. Not going to the theatre for it, but will love to watch it at home!
This feels like a movie from 2006, but still looks pretty good.
The original boogeyman movies are the reason I couldn't sleep at night as a kid
That music with the violins was *GENIUS!* Great nod to "Psycho" and "Insidious"! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Agreed
This film got the seal of approval from Stephen King himself. Really looking forward to this movie.
@Chase Hedges67 That’s my whole point, obviously.
@Alfred Hitchcook He’s an author, not a director or a filmmaker
And Kubrick’s _The Shining_ didn’t. One of the most iconic horror films of all time was called a worthless terrible movie by him. Every movie and show based on King’s books that got his seal of approval ended up being trash. He is a terrible judge of film.
The sound of this movie is INSANE. Can't wait to watch it and get terrified.
What a trailer it deserve one more like please 😀
